Just channeling my inner BRIGGS bag because this kid reminds me so much of Quickley.

* A10 POY.
* Played PG as a freshman, moved to SG as a sophomore.
* Deep range!
* Just like Quickley, he needs to get stronger (hence the name Bones).
* Just like Quickley, doesn't have the handles to play the point consistently.
* Did I mention he has deep range? Regardless of the competition level, shooting is shooting.
* Didn't get to showcase his talents on a nation stage because his team got struck with Covid just days before the NCAA tournament.
* Definitely a guy to keep your eye on. Was projected to go in the 2nd round but looks to be rising into a late 1st round pick, similar to Quickley.

I’m familiar. The question will be do we need something else in the draft other than iq 2.0

I need to see his real measurements in the combine.

I could see a backup crew with him and iq.. essentially playing rose role. I’ll have to watch some more film 🎥 lol

He could be a talent we could stash when rose knees gives out

Yeah, the clips are very reminiscent of Quickley!
At 5:52, his teammate has a nice look but launches a UFO anyway - damn that shot was way off.

I would say that folks here don't seem to appreciate Quickley's PG skills - the man can dribble, pass, run the pick and roll like a champ... I think it's more of a matter of knowing the plays and developing his floor general acumen, and of course, whether his coaches want him to develop those skills and whether he has the bball IQ for it.
He can benefit from more strength, but come on, while he's no Lillard, but he's beast mode compared to fellow young guns like Trae, Ja, and Fox.

Yeah, Quickley is in the mode of the modern point guard. Not the visionary, creative type point guard (i.e. Jason Kidd) but the typical score first point guard like the guys you referenced. Still can't say that I trust his handles right now if he had to run the point full time but it certainly be developed.

This is a little confusing. If we bring in a starting PG and Rose will be his backup, that means Rose will lead the second unit. When should Rose play if he is a backup of the first PG and someone else leads the second unit? And I believe we will bring starting PG, and as for Luca, I don’t want to expect too much from him. If he succeeds, the better.

I have seen some write that we have brought "the best European PG". Eurohoops worked on a list of the best European players before the start of the season and Luca was in 59th place. Deck, who came to Oklahoma, was 62nd and Campazzo, who is now in Denver, was 4th. True, Luca played a good season after that, but I just want to put things in a certain perspective so people wouldn’t expect too much. Of course that doesn’t mean Luca isn’t a good player and can’t help us.

i guess it is, especially in thibs rotation, but im thinking a young unit, backups to starters then the starters. a big 15.
he wont play this season anyways and only this years money is guaranteed. then its all team options, but to crack thibs rotation u gatta be a heck of a player . now im confusing myself

One thing for sure. Don’t expect rose to play more than 40-50 regular season games.

This is why its either Luca starting or we are drafting a pg or signing/trading for a pg starter.

Imo expect the bench to remain

Sg iq
Pg rose/Luca

I will be pissed if those are the 2 PG's playing the bulk of the minutes

Why?

For me, learning the PG position is just hard. And if IQ can do it on the court with another ball handler like Rose/Luca while doing his long distance thing, I think that's a very good thing. Fade out Rose, fade in IQ.
