The Knicks are having a surprising season, a team that's almost has the same roster as last year, a team way below the salary cap, a team with 5 first round picks the next 3 years and all their 1st rounders going forward. This team has great chemistry, even the bench players are viewed as key players.
I dont know how to look at the teams salary the next 3 year but for the Knicks to finally have continuity, will the numbers still match up if we keep Noel, taj, Rose,(one of burks or Bullock) for a multi year deal? Eventually Max Randle and re-sign Mitch and could still have cap space to sign for 2 max superstars if they want to sign here?
Is a more realistic senario is to resign the players i mentioned, sign Randle to a max contract then sign a superstar to a max in the next year or 2 then to get another superstar, just trade for him by packaging Mitch and knox, Frank and a couple picks?
I do think is an absolute must for Thibs' system to work to have atleast one of Mitch or Noel in the roster to anchor the defense.
