From the guy who asked 'Will the Nets own NYC?', I now want to know if you think the Knicks are a top 10 team in the NBA?

I say YES! absolutely. They have the 10th best record in the league, are one of the best if not THE best defensive teams, as the news is pointing out somehow they became a top 10 3P% team (how the eff did that happen?), RJ keeps improving, and Randle is currently playing like we wanted Melo to play

Any truth to the rumor that they are going to convert the Post Office across the street to a Leon Rose, Tom Thibodeau, World Wide Wes museum, memorial, and shrine? Should I stop slurping the koolaid? Second round or bust!!!

We're fourth in the East. That answers your poll.
And sip the kool aid. You'll get less gas.

By the way, Melo did play this way. With less.

I completely disagree, but will wait until page 2 before I let you hijack this thread and turn it into another Melo thread

Yes. I never wanted Thibs, and now I have to eat my hat! I know when to admit I was very wrong. He is the main reason for me why we are flying so high, and I don’t mind to admit to it.

It's not just THIBs, it's his entire staff. You got stars in this league that has given a lot of the credit to their success base on 2 of our assistant coaches.

We haven't had roles define on any of our rosters since the 54 win season.

Randle, Taj, Alec, Rose veteran leadership have been priceless..you are not winning without that, been saying it for yrs

And for all the Fans that were getting upset (when thibs was hired) because They knew he was not going to rely on no young players to win... I'm still amazed at how some fans still would prefer to see knox and frank play than continue doing what we're doing..

The season he led the team in assists. Forget which one. Melo is looking more like that player in Portland. In a reduced role.

that was a fantastic season for Melo. No hate. Thank you for that brilliance Carmelo.

That said, who ya got? Who would you rather build around. I'm taking Randle. Why? PER is higher for Melo - 21.7 versus 20 for Randle in their age 26 seasons.

For me - Randle does it beyond the arc, high post, low post, on the glass, and by moving the ball. He does it with finesse and he does it by being a bully. And he does it as a stretch four which was what was needed from jrod's boy. So I am going with Randle, with absolutely no disrespect to Melo. To be very clear he does not get enough love, his 2103-14 season:

Season Age Tm Lg Pos G GS MP FG FGA FG% 3P 3PA 3P% 2P 2PA 2P% eFG% FT FTA FT% ORB DRB TRB AST STL BLK TOV PF PTS

so step away from the ledge, Melo is a historical great, I recognize that. Look at the above line, holy ****

With Randle's shooting, playmaking, and defensive intensity, i'll give him the slight advantage over Melo's best at this point. But obviously Randle has a long road ahead.

This is just another reason why we are a getting better and better every game

That means later-than-normal nights at the gym. It means shooting on days dedicated to film. It means shooting before and after games. It even means sneaking into the practice facility when your coach declares a rest day.

That’s what rookie Immanuel Quickley suggested was on the table. The Knicks just won two games in two nights, and have a 1 p.m. tip-off against the Raptors on Saturday. NBA teams are prohibited from practicing the day after a back-to-back, and Quickley said Thibodeau declared Thursday a “blackout day.”

“He declared that really nobody’s supposed to come in, but the guys that wanted to work try to still come in anyway,” he said. “We have like a key card and we have 24-hour access. Coach Thibs might turn the key card off tomorrow since he declared a blackout day, so nobody’s allowed to go into the gym.

“I’ll probably still find a way in though.”

They just put that work in, and you can see it, guys get off the Plane and go straight to the gym instead of the crib or the Hotel.

Under Fizdale, Guys were going straight to the Playstation/ XBOX/ or the club..lol

They just did a nice segment on the Knicks on ESPN "The Jump" . Discussed Randle flirting with All Pro. How Thibs has evolved as a coach, but not a 180.

How the Lakers draft picks did better once they left LA. Worth checking out, if only to hear nice things about the Knicks, lol. The commentary is spot on.

Edit: They also mentioned what a great job the entire coaching staff was doing.

True, and absolutely. But maybe to take a step back a second, isn't it nice that this is even a discussion? This came out of nowhere.

Haha, I almost forgot that he took them to the playoffs. As spectators. And yes there was talk about how Fortnite was taking way too much time away from basketball

Randle has plane to the gym. Melo had plane to Puerto Rico. They both play bully ball, which during Melo's tenure here, was supposed to be GOING OUT OF STYLE, DINO-BALL.

Randle gets us to the second round, and he'll have traveled down the road, IMHO.

I voted no... but I am not right. They are a top 10, but its really clos. There are 6-7 teams clearly better but after that its a hodgepodge and you have put the Knicks in there for their win total and for their defense. They have an identity, they are getting better, they are young, they are deep, they win games.
