If Lonzo Ball doesn’t pan out Kemba might be a decent backup plan for pg next. Yes, he’s past his prime and has a bad contract but he only has two years left on his deal and the Celtics will be desperate to get rid of him. We can get him in a straight up salary dump trade similar to what CP3 or Westbrook would have been part offseason

How he is better that Elf/Rose combination?
We should have a solution not some temp fix.
Better to develop Quick and draft another prospect PG and have minutes for him.

Kemba has a player option of $37M in 2022-23 when a boatload of UFA's come on the market.

What is your price to take on Kemba?

This has got to make sense and get past the I had a tangent thought stage

He’s way better than Elf even now

We wouldn’t have to give up anything. He has only 2 years left on his deal. He’s way better than Payton and Rose is probably gone next season unless he agrees to a one year deal at cheap money

Let me say it differently: If Kemba was an UFA would you sign him to a 2 year deal for $36M and $37M knowing that he was declining in production and was a serious health risk?

Because he is way better than Payton includes just about the whole NBA and shouldn't be an argument about anything

The only way I would want Kemba at this stage of his career would be for the vet min. Since he still has 2 years left in his contract then this is a no.

ewwwwwww he sucks and has a horrible contract. Unless they are giving us a pick that will get top 5 in this draft then absolutely not.

It is also impossible to make a trade with Boston. They don't make moves unless they are winning the trade by a landslide.

Trading for Kemba would be doing the Celtics a favor!! Kemba looks to be damaged goods and with that salary, there's no way in hell should we be looking at him. be a horrible trade He hurt his knee last year and it looks like he hasn't recovered. Also, he's not playing back-to-backs this year.

makes zero sense. Just give Schroder 4 years $120mm. He's a better player on both sides of the ball and younger by 3-4 years. If you want to overspend on PG (and I understand the reasoning) there are much better options than Kemba.

Nalod has big respect for Kemba and wish him well. There are always exceptions but there is an age thing for the smallish PG creater and when the clock strikes midnight it turns ugly.

Sad but unfortunately a whole lot of truth. Kemba’s recent decline has been noticeably dramatic. Age, injuries catch up with us all. Wrong time for the wrong franchise. Sorry kemba.

I understand Mo Cheeks is available. I think he's probably better than Elf. Should we bring him in?

What do you think the Bulls would want for him?

The Kemba ship has sailed. I want a PG who will bring it on both ends but not take the ball away from Randle too much and what is working. I'd rather sign Schroder or Lowry than Kemba for what we are looking for.

I think Kemba will have a hard time getting another big contract - the Celtics will have a tough time unloading him. He's damaged good. His knee injury last season was pretty bad and this year they've been babying him all year. He can still put up numbers, but his career IMHO is on borrowed time.

And to be clear, my implication would be that BOSTON would have to give up a ****-ton for this to make sense for the Knicks
