It’s incredible he’s not in the conversation for ROY. I know he’s not starting but he’s a killer

Excellent to win a trap game. It’s such a different vibe when that happens to a team. Love it

Beal and Westbrook against Frankie and Satan.
Question: How the hell do we win a game with a starting backcourt that scores 8 points and has zero assists in 36 minutes combined?
Answer: When your bench backcourt outscores their starting backcourt.

But really, who cares?

They really should start tracking "Screens successfully fought through" as an NBA Hustle stat. Frankie would lead the league.

Knicks reddit is great and the Knick fans on the NBA sub are insufferable and I love every bit of it

Quickley is a shoo-in for winner of the ROY per 36 award (which doesn't exist except in the mind of Knick fans).

He's totally in the conversation, but is not a leading candidate. Ball was simply amazing pre-injury - and it'll be interesting to see how that affects his chances, esp when the other players have 30 or so more games left to be awesome. What would it take for Quickley to steal the ROY award? 1) get 25-30mpg the rest of the way AND scale his per 36 #s to reality. 2) Lots of Robert Horry-style signature shots like this games leading to a playoff berth! Either (or both) of these would certainly help elevate him over Edwards, whose team does not stand to be in the playoff hunt.

And... RJ is really putting up an interesting case for MIP. While he's probably not going to get there - guys like Randle (who went from borderline all-star to superstar), Christian Woods, and Jerami Grant have a bit more of a handle on it - he's setting himself up for next year with his more efficient shooting and scoring, and altogether refined gameplay.

This was a signature game for RJ. He started out the game cold and the team seemed slated for a let down, but but he literally willed the team to victory with Randle hobbled. Thibs doesn't often give RJ opportunities to be the alpha guy - usually he's just a (high level) guy on the court that makes plays - not the driving force. Very impressive and almost Kobe-esque in the sense that he kept coming at them with the maple mamba mentality and the Wizards relented!

the bold! they really did! RJ is so strong and last night is exactly why I do NOT want him at SF, rather at SG where he can pound you like Brandon Jacobs all game. Wash was like "phuck this" once he got it going... it was so great. Lets get a 3rd guy now!
