Elgin Baylor has passed away at the age 0f 86. A little before even my time -- I was a kid in his later years -- nonetheless I am aware of his stature and legacy as a player in the very top echelon of great players. I encourage folks to look him up, but for starters he averaged 40 minutes, over 13 rebounds, 4 assists, and 27 points (no 3 point shot then btw) on many great Laker teams over 14 seasons. Pretty much mirrored his averages in 134 playoff games. A super athletic innovator, he Skied before it was a thing. Also a man who walked the walk in the civil rights movement. Salute.
