If we added him now— we’d be an eastern contender. A big 3 with a tough mind set and game

what's crazy is he's shooting 45% from 3 on the yr, and almost 50% overall.

In fact almost everyone of the players that we had on this roster last season are all playing way better than they did under fizdale.

I couldn't disagree more. I don't think Randle and Morris complimented each other at all and it may have contributed to Randle's performance last season. I think the trade helped both players.

I think Randle suffered more from trying to perform to justify his big contract than fit with any players on the roster.

Randle is performing as an all star because of the work he put in in the off season, having a year under his belt in NYC and have Thibs as the coach. Not us having traded any players away.

Yep, nothing but love for Marcus, but Randle wasn't really able to cook with him last year. I will say...we could really use a role player like Dot tho...

This is my thought. Randle and Morris are basically both 4s, both operate in the same space, and neither move without the ball. Seeing that Randle took off as soon as Morris was traded, and elevated to what he is now, it wouldn't be smart to bring back a guy who probably preventing that from happening sooner. Morris was great here and obviously is the reason we have quickley too, but he just wasn't a good fit with Randle. We need a true off-ball wing, basically a better version of Bullock to take another big step, although i have been happy with him lately. I just think we need to be patient and see where things go.

I agree, Morris is better suited for stretch PF than SF in todays NBA. He would fit nicely taking Obi's mins as a backup PF for an upgrade in production. But that's not a role he would really want unless we were a championship contender. He is currently in the perfect situation to his skill set. Playing stretch 4 feeding off of Leonard & George. Then teaming up with Lou to assist with 2nd unit production.

Here he would need to play SF next to Randle here which would slow down the pace drastically.

Ugh, check his stat lines and reassess. Burks/Bullock MUCH better all around.

Idk, Randle cleaned his game up and can co-exist with RJ. We aren’t going back, because if anything those two buried RJ on the bench, but that type of production would missed. Especially since he would probably be part of the bench mob

I believe Randle's efficiency improved last year after the Morris trade.

Morris the role player who comes off the bench for LAC is a different type of player than Morris the starter for the Knicks who overlapped too much with Randle at PF.

Morris on the Knicks has too much usage for his role he played on the Knicks and definitely would have interfered (ie not taken a back seat to) with RJ/Randle

LAC or even Boston Morris would be a very nice player for the Knicks.

He always looked the part but never put it together. And why do we suddenly need all the players we had when we were bad to make us better now? WHat's the logic with that?

We always want to get the band back together for one more concert man. Where's Miller at?

Yeah, I'm assuming RJ is still in the starting lineup. Morris is ball dominant and excels on the same spots of the floor as Randle. It would be tough unless you had Randle as small ball 5. You could put Morris on the bench, but I don't think Morris would come back here for a bench role.

A number of ex-Knicks are having solid seasons as role players/bench guys. The previously mentioned Ellington and Portis, as well as Enes Kanter, Doug McDermott, even Carmelo. Other than Melo, these were guys who were largely dismissed as “trash” and such. In reality they were on bad teams with bad coaching being asked to perform beyond their abilities.

Yeah....I'm still kinda dismissing Kanter as trash, but you're right about the other guys.
