lol @ being BANNED by Martin since 11/07/10 (for asking if Mr. Earl had a point). Really, Martin? C'mon. This is the internet. I've seen much worse on this site. By Earl himself. Drop the hypocrisy.

Clyde
Earl
Bernard
Patrick
Reed

Role playing subs:

Phil Jackson, Oakley, Mark Jax, Houstan, Camby

Reed played many years at PF. My list is based on creating a team and subs by need. Phil was long defensive guy, oak is my tough guy, Jax is my assist guy, Allan is my sniper, and camby is my back up center/forward to do what he does best in transition.

You guys whom never saw Clyde or Earl need to find some video, or some books and learn about these two. Not just great players, they were cool and very New York. Patrick was the greatest NY center ever.

I hope we can add a few of todays players to the list one day. No doubt Marbs has the talent, its just he has yet to acomplish anything. Character also plays a role. Each of these guys have done someting special or have been a team player.

3. Ward
4. Childs

i think Ariza, Crawford & JYD definitely have a good shot of making the list if they stick around long enough...i love how all 3 of them play & approach the game.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

You pick marbs whom played a half season over Clyde? Earl? LJ? Starks? Wingo? Sparrow? Blackman? Sugar Ray? Freeman Williams? Marvin Webster? Milos? Ginonelli? Willis? Etc, etc?

1) Ewing
2)Marbury
3)Sprewell
4)Ariza
5)Camby
6)Houston
7)Sweetney

Unfortunately, I missed an era of great Knick basketball, during the 90's. I started watching it after Ewing, but from all the clips, classic games, stats, and other comments on him, he's taking my #1 spot.
Also had to throw Trevor on there, who is climbing the ranks quickly.

<edit>Just realized I got Ariza on there and forgot to throw on Sweets

Clyde and Earl were before my time. I became a Knick fan in the '80s. How many good years did Starks have? Maybe 2. LJ was simply a nice role player. I really enjoyed both of them (Starks and LJ) but they never turned a team and a city around like Steph did

I think as of now, Starks has been far the better Knick when compared to Steph. But once Steph takes us to te finals, then his rank will climb above Starks.

1)Pat Ewing
2)Starks
3)H20
4)Harper
5)Everyone on the team who won the last Championship for us.
6)Derek Jeter. (just kidding)
