Don't flame me because I'm just asking here, no I don't expect Trevor Ariza to do it but I would love it if he did the impossible. Besides the only possibility for a chance that it could happen is if we traded TT in the begining of the season and gave the starting nod to Trev over Penny.

kind of a loaded question if you go back toward willis reed.

back then you had something called territorial rights involved + there were only 9 teams drafting compared to 30 today.

i think willis was picked 10th or 11th that year.


it hasnt happened with the expansion of teams but it will happen soon IMHO. you have a guy like daniels last year who put up monster numbers hen he got pT and he wasnt even drafted--the bigger drafting pool will yield --actually has yielded much higher quality in the last several years.

There have been a number of 2nd rounders who have had huge immediate impact in recent years... but none have been quite good enough to win the award.
