back to back blowouts you think youd play a hard 48 minute game. Obviously that wasnt the case. when you have to say--oh we werent supposed to beat this team it's a terrible sign. that means you are playing with a *LOSING* mentality. when you go into a game with that mind set--if you have to make excuses for your play--you are not a good ballclub--this is NOt a good ballclub and remember that little thread that I posted about our tough first 30 games--if anyone doesnt think we CAN EASILY go 10-20 youre dead wrong.

Briggs, relax. Now take a deep breath, and look at the calander. This is only the preseason. Marbury and Thomas did not play.
If we have 3 straight blow out games in the regular season, I give you full permission to be a drama queen, but please, wait until then.

I think it's safe to worry.

It's pre-season but they are still playing basketball.

Why are they resting Marbs? What is so different about the olympics and the Rucker? With the Rucker he would have played more games. Plus the competition is steep especially since they Terror Squad played against a Baron Davis lead team from Cali for a Nation wide title.

Timmy is hurt but he looked hurt when he was playing.

I'm not the type of guy that believes a team can just turn it on once the season begins. Even if they do is that the type of team you want on the floor?

so if it's safe for a 39 win team from a year to go to worry, then what should the defending champions be doing since they're 1-3? in the preseason?

60% of the starting lineup was out. They should have lost to Minny by more than 20.

the result of getting blown out by an average of 28 points in 3 straight games has shown off our HUGE defeciencies, and i would add we have glimpsed why teams INCLUDINg the Bulls may have shied away from craw. Every team has great players not playing--we got beat by the Mavs by 40 without DIRK[who is better than any knicks] Daniels and Stackhouse. If you go HARD for 48 minutes, you should never lose by such greta disparity--nevermind 3 times in a row. Its not about any other club its about us. I make no excuses for brutal play and Id bet isiah doesnt either. He said stright out he wanted to win this pre-season and I would say for a club that has spent 104MM-we look only slightly better than the bobcats--thats not saying much.

now Dallas is playing at our home tomorrow after playing TONIGHT and they have even more injury problems. A good team--no a medicore team should beat up a banged up team on a B-b at home. Lets see what we do--we should win by 10-12 points. Heck ill take 5-6 no excuses.

so how is it we lost to dallas by 40 without 2 starters[their best player and their 6th man? its an excuse. minnesota missed sprewell who is head and shoulders better than TT>

accepting blowouts an making excuses is a LOSER mentality. we have a 100mm $ payroll we had Crawford and Hardaway in the backcourt with isiahs hand picked back ups plus our entire frontline. we shouldnt lose by 20 after two succesive blowouts.

As usual, I'm in agreement with Briggs here. To get blown out is one thing. To get blown out without giving an effort is entirely another. This may be preseason, but there is never an excuse for a team that shows no heart. Especially not from a team that many people are expecting good things from.

We are getting beaten. Our "depth" is getting beaten. We are deep, but since we can't differenciate our starters, this needs to come together.

Bonnie, rather than hang with some tough critic, why not respect the few whom really stick their necks regardless of agreement, but still respect with a valid point.

If you think Briggs or anyone is over reacting, say it back bone, by just sniping is weak.

Do what you may with mine, but show some respect to others by at least not sucking. As Romie says: "have a take and don't suck".

Oh, if you have not noticed, the team has lost the last 3 preSeason contests, no biggie, Team has lost 3 games by 80 Gotdarn points. After THE Father spouted about winning in preseason to create a winning atmosphere, I think if a few dudes wish to be concerned, it may be valid. If you don't, give some real men some room to express an original point of view.

nalod - i understand exactly what you're saying but i also understand why people say the opposite. (as this is turning into a briggs post)

he's an awesome poster and everyone here knows that. for me personally, i just find it funny that everytime something bad happens, he's here stating it time and time again while other teams he keeps saying is better or whatever are going through the same thing yet we only see posts about them when something good happens. it's just funny, that's all and sometimes after reading the same type of posts, it's gets to a point when you need to respond (in good fun) - that's all.

Dude, your right, but I think ones credability should be establishedif one is going to attack with a sarcastic "SNIT" comment. Some dudes just laugh and then snap on, which is not cool. Briggy panics sometimes, and yeah its funny, but depends on whose doing it. catch my drift? I don't always agree with everything, but if you don't got a take, then let it pass. If you got major take, then you present it. Thats valid. Briggs gets plenty of run, and most of it is good. And when its not, he is thoughtful. That gets props in my book. Hell, Briggs don't meed me defending him, but I have read his stuff for two years, and he puts effort. My stuff sucks from time to time, but at least I stick my neck out and try. I dig when Im called out on sucking, but its gotta be valid. And when a dude calls me out and Bonnie just piles on with only an agreement, thats so lame.
And Look at my posts when Bonnie does offer somthing, it like anyother dude around here.

Most of the dudes around here have valid takes. Its a good site!
