RJ Barrett is also coming along very nicely--I appreciate as a fan that he has worked hard constantly to improve--never got down on himself.

I watch a lot of nBA thats not the Knicks. I watched the Pelicans 2-3 X and I wont absolutely no part of Lonzo Ball. I heard that name more thna once---I would only do a frank for ball type move if they have some koind of intent--hes not worthy of any form of a first rd pick.

Also with all the cap space we had we frikin absolutely blew not acquiring Christian Wood. He played against Zion and Ingram and he looked like the best player BY FAR. We missed a superstar type for less than what we gavce Bobby Portis. We couldve put Wood at 5 Randle at 4 and used Robinson off the bench---wed be at a different level BVIG BIG BIG miss

100% I agree....I was high on RJ from before but he showed me something being matched up with Kawhi and literally going toe to toe...he may not be the fulcrum of an offense that Jah is or the athletic highlight Zion is....but he can be that 20pt...8rebs...4ast two way player....that is durable...time will tell but I like what I am seeing...

Totally true, BRIGGS. But in poker you shouldn't spend any energy bemoaning the hands you fold pre-flop just because the hand dealt out runners. It's the same thing here...you can't know Wood gwine be this ridiculous. It's a miss, but plenty of other teams missed something on him, too.

I absolutely love the position the knicks are in though. They really do sort of have a mini big 3 right now in Randle, Barrett, and Quickley. Randle looks like an all-star caliber player for the next 5-7 years. Barrett looks like he will get near that level soon enough. Quickley at the very least looks like a dynamic scorer that can be a long-term starter. Mitch is still Mitch, although i still wonder if we will pay him. We have all this plus loaded with draft picks and cash/flexibility. And we don't have to pay Barrett and Quickley for a long time, so only Randle and Robinson are long-term investments we have to worry about anytime soon.

We have Randle. Where would Wood play?

Wood really is a center. And I get Briggs point that it was a good player that could have been had for cheap. But I think when you have Randle and Mitch plus Toppin off the bench there isn’t as much upside in adding this player. Not taking anything away from him, and we are clearly still in talent acquisition mode, but he’s just not the guy we need.

Who knows that we didn't offer him? We where rumored to have had interest. Wood may have picked Houston over us. They seemed like the more stable organization before the season. Also, it's been a bit of a red flag that many orgs recognized his talent, but many didn't go after him. There are clearly things behind the scenes that we don't know. Anyway, inversion technology hasn't been invented yet and we can't change the past. Time to move on.

Lol. I always wonder with FA signings whether there was a chance. His contract is so low, in my head I was willing to pay up to 14mm per for him. FO has to believe that Obi has a higher ceiling. Even then, if Woods can play C, it’s questionable.

Only thing I can come up with on these kinds of things is that the play had no interest.

You know I gonna spin wit it

There are a number of factors. Houston also had to give up the #16 pick in the draft. Knicks did not have a high enough draft pick but did have the #23 or whatever that turned into IQ.

Anyone OK trading the rights to IQ (plus a little more) for the rights to Woods? The trade was bigger than that altogether but that's the short of it I think.

Also, the Knicks with a new FO and new coaching staff wanted to start to create a culture. Woods is a known head case. Maybe he has changed, maybe he has not. Detroit didn't want him and had him all year. Does a team with a ton of young guys want a head case who overlaps with the talent that is already on the team?

The answer was NO.
