Projecting out a bit, I see 2024 as a big free agent year. I know it's a long ways away, but Devin Booker (CAA and Kentucky), Karl Towns (CAA and Kentucky) and Jaylen Brown will all be UFA's and 27-28 years old. Rose should make his moves with that class in mind. So if he signs free agents this year to 3- year deals or extends some current players to 2024 than that would be fine. Focus on true culture change and becoming a good team with a solid foundation of players for the next 3 years. Barrett, Quickley, Randle, Robinson, Toppin, and 2 more first round picks this year, plus future picks.
Barrett, Quickley, Toppin, and the future rookies will all be on rookie deals for the duration. Barrett can be extended but still only have a 14 mil cap hit. Toppin will only be 7 mil and Quickley 4 mil. Extend Robinson this summer for 3 years so 2024 is the end of his contract. Randle is the only complicated one, but let's say he got 4 years 25 mil. At that point in time the Knicks could still possibly squeeze 2 free agents into cap with some maneuverability or 1 plus have plenty of left-over to fill out the roster comfortably.

3 or 4 Kentucky guys in the line-up. This is after-all a main reason this front office and coaching staff is in place, to convince these guys to eventually come, once the culture change is well-established.
