Perhaps...but the Magic were terrible today. They missed a ton of open looks...

Thats the case with almost all of our wins, the knicks defense had them out of rhythm. You very rarely see a player miss a shot he took in rhythm, even if he was guarded, but you see players miss wide open set shots more than they make them.

RJ is a good exemple, makes way more rhythm shots then wide open set shots

And the Knicks were playing the second game of a matinee back to back including travel.. A win is a win.

I agree- nearly every team is more talented than us, so every game we’re at a disadvantage- any win we get is against the odds.

Fantastic win. On a hangover noon back to back, the Knicks were primed for a letdown and they pulled through.
Only 6 TO’s all game. That’s less than what Randle averages by himself! (Ha!)

They’ve found a way to win this game - this was a big one because the Knicks usually lose when they can’t shoot.

RJ had another big game. He reminds me Michael Finley or Manu Ginoblu the way he attacks the basket.

Yup. To be 7-8 is truly extraordinary for this team and is a testament to how hard our guys have worked in offseason + coaching.

A win is a win and especially back to back. Definitely took some luck, but the defense was there. I just want to see more consistent rotation minutes. I thought quick deserved more minutes in the end of the 3rd and 4th quarter.

I understand going with the vets to seal the game but with us going up 15 he should have rested the starters and put the kids in. They could have put us up even more. Instead he over played the starters and put in the youth on a downward swing, and quickly pulled them before they got into rhythm.

When randle grabbed his knee and looked exhausted that was scary.

Again glad we got the W and every game is a growing experience for this young group.

As others have said, a win is a win. This game shows why Im ok with Payton starting. Cant thrust Quickley into the starting lineup. Not yet anyway.

They play really hard. The effort is always there

Yeah I still don’t know why we never got the kids in the 3Q, especially when they were thriving in the first half. Hopefully thibs learns for this..

Life's good. We're seeing good progress this year, definitely from a win perspective. We reached 7 wins in 15 games this season. We didn't get to 7 wins until game 28 last season.

Better than last season: Randle, RJ, Knox... Bullock, Payton?!
Worse than last year: Robinson. Maybe - taking fewer risks, setting better picks... but efficiency numbers are down across the board with more minutes.
Incomplete: Frank, DSJ

I just don’t understand how we played our starters the entire 3Q when they couldn’t hit a thing and Vucebich was out.

Nice win Knicks .. the Orlando Magic team had 7 players DNP for health reason, all the Magic top guards were DNP for the game. On Friday the Magic loss to the Boston Celtics 124-97 for the same reason they loss today, half of the Magics roster were DNP.

Coach Thibs gave Randle & RJ Barrett 40 minutes of playing-time each in this game to build on their STATS-record on an opponent having all their top guards out, and half their roster DNP.
Like I said, "nice Knicks win".
I would have enjoyed this Knicks win if all our Knicks bench players would have received 20+ plus minutes of playing-time. None of the Knicks 5 bench players received 20 minute today.
Rivers played 17 min
Quickley played 15 min
Noel played 14 min
Knox played 10 min
Toppin played 9 min
At least in the Boston win we seen our two rookies on the court for 20 minute mixing well as a tandem on the offensive end of the court

Knicks looked punch drunk out there.

He means that it’s silly that we didn’t allow our kids to get any burn against a depleted Magic roster, especially coming off a back to back against Boston where they played more mins. And I’d definitely agree.

Guys ,whoa come on,
We were up 30 on the Celts and yeah that's the game to empty the bench. We barely escaped with a win here, one Barrett steal ,one possession , very close game

Current Knicks remind me of a saying attribute to Whitey Herzog: Speed and defense never go in slumps

(not saying we're fast, but one can expect consistent defense)
