We get nothing out of winning games and making the playoffs. Just play hard stay in games win 28 and let’s add another serious player in the draft.

Agreed

Disagree. Dont want Thibs to overwork players. Also believe that our loss tonight shows the need to strike gold in Free Agency.

Long playoff drought, no interest from top FAs during that span. Dont believe thats a coincidence. We can develop players, and make a push for the playoffs. Thibs has to find the right balance.

We've been digging for years and haven't struck gold in free agency in decades; what makes you think that will change anytime soon? Our best bet is to prioritize the youth by giving them enough minutes to develop and make progress each game and at the same time, lose enough games so that we give ourselves a great shot to get a top 4 pick. This is the best draft at the top in years and its deeper than the last several years.

There are definitely 4-5 all-stars in this draft (maybe more) and perhaps 2-3 franchise players...our best bet to get this thing moving in the right direction is to grab one of them...We are not getting a franchise changing free agent anytime soon....Plus, there aint any available any time soon...

Have to believe in something. Logic that for what ever reason this course if development with patience is the proper one until otherwise noted. This is what Nets did to build a base to accelerate and ultimately leverage themselves for Harden. They are in the midst of the very type of knick starphuch wet dream we longed for years. But it took a few years to come together. Hard to be patient after 20 unfruitful years. At some point you have to forget the past and move forward.
This what the lakers did. They got Lebron by moving Russell for Bropez, opened up space. THen traded their youth and picks for AD. Let Randle go for space. This after a long drought.
We tried with Marbury/Eddy/Isiah and failed. Then Cleaned out to welcome Amare/Melo/Bargnani. Phil tried a hypbrid to include what was left of melo and then build thru draft. Melo/Rose/Noah was not contending but could have at least got us into the playoffs while the Triangle culture took. Good idea, bad execution and thus it failed. Call it a bad idea. Don’t change the outcome. Here we are again..........

I am as disappointed as anyone at the losing streak but it isn't a total surprise -- as the small winning streak was. I look for silver linings to go with the frustration of growing pains. But to those saying why should we think anything is different I respond:

New, seemingly smart organization with a lot of proven pros including the coach.

All our draft capital plus going forward.

Cap flexibility.

At least a handful of promising young players, plus some vets with value.

This is not how it has been for the past 20 plus years. Yes it's frustrating as hell. But let's not surrender to the stupid.

We've whiffed in free agency because we had no foundation to speak of, to attract FAs. They knew they would be the foundation. FAs want a team worth going to. A team worth going to makes the playoffs. We have some very good foundational pieces, some good vets. If Thibs can lead ua to the playoffs, without falling on old habits. That would be a great calling card for the Knicks.
