To win games the focus is on the defensive side of the game which this team has improved on dramatically.shooting the ball from deep is still an issue but as the season progresses i think it will improve and gain consistency. They just have to continue shooting and block off the noise. These players have been working on their shots they will fall consistently eventually.
They should lean on their defense to have a chance of winning every game. Defense doesnt have an off night it's something they can depend on day in and day out. For the most part they have done so. The team defense has been solid at times.
I have accepted the idea that Frank is not part of the knicks plan for the future but maybe there is a way for Thibs to give him a chance and use his lockdown skills. Is it possible that Franks individual lockdown defense clashes with Thibs' defensive team defensive schemes? There are games this season where the opposite teams backcourt scores against the knicks at will, i hope Thibs can see some value on unleashing Franks defense to control the other teams backcourt.
Frank has shown the potential to improve his 3 point shooting, the drives might never come consistently.i hope thibs can come up with a hybrid defense geared to controling a backcourt centered opponent like Portland or GS and use Frank's individual lockdown defense anchored by Mitch while the rest plays Thibs' brand of team defense.
I know Frank's offense and his game pace is less than desirable but i don't understand why thibs can't see value on Franks individual defensive skills. I do think Frank can be one of the missing peices in this puzzle.
