Rivers is the glue guy going forward.
after hearing him speak last night after the game he sounded like a coach. I think Doc got him here so he’d learn from Thibs and perhaps one day after he playing days are done he might want to go into it. He played for coach K, his dad, and now wanted to be here with Thibs. Austin did not be the player we thought he could in college and is not as good as his father was. Its a nice run he is having. I don’t know what his aspirations are but he talked like a coach and it just made me think.

BTW, Look for Seth Curry’s sone (if he has one) as the next thing. He arrived Doc Rivers Daughter so your talking about three generations of NBA talent if he makes it. BOTH Grandfathers and Father!!!! Thats a lot of NBA DNA!!

Seth and Stephs sister is married to warriors player Damian Lee.

How did we do?

We have some good rotational pieces that still need developing. Mitch and RJ are starters for sure...the jury is still out on the others. Until he improves his shot and shot selection, RJ is more of a 3rd or 4th option on a team that has serious aspirations to advance deep into the playoffs.

Before the season began, I was thinking we would be in the hunt for a top 5 pick in a draft that appears to have a few franchise changing players at the very top. The way we are playing now; we most likely will be competing for a playoff spot instead of competing for the number 1 pick. Happy with the way we are playing and the progress we are making, but the by product is if we use our draft picks to actually draft, then we will be in the mix for more rotational players since we will be drafting possible outside of the top ten.

On the other side, we are in position to use some of our draft capital to help in a trade to secure that number 1 option we need to compete for a top 4 spot in the east as opposed to just competing to get in. Curious to see how this season plays out. Can we maintain this play and for how long? And what plans will the front office will be moving forward....

That's if he keeps improving. His advanced numbers are meh, and he still needs to tighten up his game. Only 8 games in, but RJ is at a point where he needs to focus on the details. Things like when to stop shooting 3s and focus on getting easy buckets. It's only 8 games in so I'm not worried yet.

Guys he's the youngest player on our roster. You work with what you see and yes his handle and shot are shaky at best but his work ethic and ability to get to the basket are fantastic. He's already an excellent defender. When you see him in a winning environment you see it all needs work but he will put it in. Im really excited about his development with Thibs. I think they are a magical matchup and just wait and see

My head is still adjusting

We may have backed into a good team.

Randle and Payton have had resurrections

The role players are a great fit

The coach was a great call

And take away a few KP games the Knicks have been enjoyable to watch for the first x in years

I want to see 20 games — c where were at

It's weird cause usually you judge things either before they happen or after like 1 game

Some things I’ve noticed
We take better shots than other teams
I watch in amazement how many 3s other teams Chuck and while we will ultimately need to improve there— I like that we take a lot of good shots

Right now Julius Randle is like a top 10 nba player. And physically hard to guard.

E Payton is playing great.

We have many strong bodied players so we can play a tough brand of half court d

We don’t fall off much w unit 2.

Austin Rivers gives us a clutch X factor player almost like John Starks
Abs were getting back Burks who was our best player when he was here

I think we all owe Fiz an apology- he got blasted for smiling at the Bucks blow out, but looking at it now, it’s clear in that moment, he had a sudden future vision of how this season was going to go, and he new everything was going to be okay

Question. If Knox, Frank or DSJR were given the freedom RJ has had, how do you think they would be doing this year? DSJR had that kind of freedom his first year and had decent numbers. Frank had a little bit last year when others were hurt but not on a winning team. Knox had a bit the first year a but not on a good team. Point is, I am watching to see how RJ takes advantage of all these minutes and third overall pick treatment despite the bad shooting. Do realize he "does other things" but feel if he does not improve his shooting percentage, Thibs will start doing more of what he did last night. I am hoping he has more games like the one one he had in his first game of the year.

I’d rather hold onto our draft picks and keep building through the draft. It will help salary cap wise and I feel it will lure other big FA now that we have a true head coach and teal goid young core

He knew it was just a matter of time before he got fired and would be sitting on 20 million $$ on some remote island with is dime piece wife.

We hired the wrong coach for the last 7 season, a bunch of low IQ player friendly coaches that will never be hired as HC in the near future.

Time to re-evaluate the KP trade.

We got DSJ - fail.

They got KP - Max Contract and hasn't played at all this year.

We got cap space we used to sign Randle and Morris.

Randle is leading us.
Morris became IQ and a future #2.

We got two more first rounders coming.

Everything in moderation. Even moderation.

Randle alone is giving us more production than KP did. All while involving his teammates. Randle is 7th in the NBA in assists as of right now
