With the emergence of Quick, which of the following combos
would be the best young IQ-Frank, IQ-DSJ or IQ-RJB. For me I'd rank them as follows: IQ-Frank this combo gives the best defense in the backcourt and overall you also have 2nd ball handler to help out IQ. IQ-RJB this combo is not as good defensively but is the best offensively and like the fist option there are 2 ball handlers together. I put IQ-DSJ 3rd because two smalliah players in your back court is probably not so good. What say you.

I would go PG-IQ and SG-RJ

Let Knox start at the 3. He has been playing much better this preseason particularly on offense

so your lineup would be Mitch Obi Knox RJ IQwhile mine would be Mitch, Obi, RJ Frank IQ
The lineups are exactly the same except for Knox vs Frank You really thing Knox makes the Knicks better than Frank would? I am not so sure.

The fun part about IQ is that, for one game, he did exactly what we have saying he would do (spread the floor), but he also ran the offense. It was fun to watch.
You know I gonna spin wit it

Quickley burks and Barrett at the 1, 2, 3 for me. Frank probably isn’t a rotation player here with the way this team is constructed right now. Quick and Burks providing shooting , ball movement and enough defense to look decent in both ends of the floor.

need more than 20 minutes of good play (and everyone hitting every shot around him) before we can declare Quickley has "emerged" but the signs are very promising. What you see are very good fundamentals. What you see when he's on the court is that he belongs. Gotta love his confidence.

Came here to say this....I thought Quickley made some good plays but we need to pump the brakes, just a little. He made some good passes, made a few savvy plays to draw fouls, got into the paint a few times, but he was 3-11 from the field. Of course, he's a better shooter than he showed. He was shooting Steph Curry range 3's...He needs step a little closer to the line and take what the defense gives him...I am hoping he gets meaningful minutes next pre-season game so he can gain more confidence....

Agreed with Knox. I was upset that Thibs pulled after what seemed like 5 mins in the 2nd quarter. Glad he came back and had a great 4th. Knox is bursting from the seams with potential. Just think he needs confidence and more in game experience along with deep film-work. I would love to see Knox get the nod at the 3, but I think Thibs will go with Burk. Hopefully, Knox is the 6th man and Thibs does not have him on a short leash....

Knox has shown significant improvement on offense during preseason.

I would split time between Frank and Knox depending on in game situation

I like the chemistry between knox and IQ. They both seem to know where each other should be and Knox appears to trust IQ on those passes, so he's ready to shoot b4 he even gets the ball.

And one good thing about a shooter turned PG like IQ. He knows how to pass the ball, right into the players shooting pocket. Since our PGs in past years where not spot up shooters, they never passed the ball into players shooting pocket like IQ does naturally, on those catch and shoot plays. IQ should be the first PG or player off the bench.

Eventhough IQ may be the best young PG on the team, he hasn't earned a starting role in the NBA yet. Playing against G league talent doesn't earn you a starting role, just more minutes. And thigs is old school. He needs to earn his play amoungst his peers, otherwise you setting IQ up to fail. Right now, the chemistry with that second unit and the entire team works, which is why I believe Thigs wanted to see those lineups with the vets / starters sitting out.

Just my gut feeling. But that last preseason game wasn't about who starts, it was about developing second unit chemistry and see whats the best lineup combination to use during the season. Now if Thibs made that switch mid season, I would understand that and he wouldv'e earned his stripes by then.

Born in Brooklyn, Raised in Queens, Lives in Maryland. The future is bright, I'm a Knicks fan for life!

Good point. Knox and IQ do have chemistry
