![]() this is so dumb. Do we understand what's happening on the basketball floor? Toppin's job when he's NOT scoring in the post is to spread the floor. If the ball finds him 8x at the 3 point line and he's open I expect him to take 8x 3 pointers. If he's guarded or defender is closing he can swing it. Open shoot it. IS this really hard to grasp?

![]() This shouldn’t be an argument. His best position will end up being small ball 5 or 4-5. You don’t want a player who makes high % rate 30 feet from the basket. That’s dumb? Makes no sense — the person you’re spreading the floor for his Obi?

Makes no sense — the person you’re spreading the floor for his Obi? Yes, yes it is. Cause it'll pull a big defender out of the paint. And when Obi starts to hit those shots he can put the ball on the floor and watch a defender fly by him and dunk on some dudes or find a wide open teammate when defenders have to rotate. This is modern basketball. Bro has got to hit them of course but the assumption is he won't go 1-6 every game. Official sponsor of the PURE KNICKS LOVE Program

You understand there's 5 guys on the floor yea? You also understand if Obi just hangs where he shoots best he clogs the middle. So you know.. when RJ (who is also better at driving than shooting) attacks the basket Obi's defender isnt there hanging around. Thats why Obi moves out to spread the floor and why he shoots the 3. This is how basketball works. If you dont have the ball you space the floor. I can see why you are confounded Thibs hasnt figured this all out yet. Let's not forget that he was one of the best 3 point shooting big man in the draft. Couldn't agree more. The long 2's are stupid and a big reason why Knox and DSJ are losing players. I don't mind Obi taking long 3's let's space it out |
