Mitchell Robinson is probably my favorite Knick but also is due to get paid very soon. Jaren Jackson has has some injury issues and is currently out recovering from a meniscus... still Jackson is a potential star and would be an ideal Center to compliment Obi Toppin. Additionally in the deal we could send Randle in exchange for Gorgi Deng’s expiring contract (who played for Thibs in Minnesota).
Thought came to me after seeing that we are hiring Jackson’s dad to work with Westchester Knicks.

I wouldn't hesitate to throw him in if it was a trade for a PG.

Let's wait to see how this new coach/system/players look on the court. If Mitchell is the same player as he was in year one we can return to this discussion. If he has developed his offense beyond outbacks I would want to resign him. We are talking about our potential starting center for years to come, one that fits perfectly with our top draft acquisition. Let's not throw the baby out with the bathwater just because he has changed another agent

They would never do that trade. I like Mitch and expect great things for him. But JJJ is still a much better two-way project. They'd want, at the very least, two first rounders.

Exactly...JJJ and Jah are the two cornerstones of their rebuild. No way do they make this trade.

Dont believe that Mitch has to be an offensive dynamo to justify keeping him in NY. Absolutely would like to see him develop at least a reliable midrange jumper. I hope Rose gives Mitch a season to make a case for another deal.

Mitch broke a Wilt Chamberlain FG pct record. Yes, not taking many jumpers helped. Think of the thousands of centers who have been in this league over the last 50 years or so. Who played mostly in the paint, who couldnt do the same. Thats aside from Mitch's elite D.

Unless its for a top 15 player, in his prime. It would be crazy to trade Mitch so soon IMO.

That sounds like you want Thibs to just give him minutes he hasn't earned?

Impossible. I'd gladly make that trade but JJ is more established and as others have said is there cornerstone piece.

Sounds to me he does not want us to trade him at a low point in his value.
