Right now, I think the Vets are better. Almost across the board. I don’t see the Jrs creating a cohesive defense yet. I think Randle would have his hands full trying to guard Toppin. Probably have to switch so that Noel is guarding Toppin and Randle bodies up Robinson.

Neither team has amazing outside shooting. So, Barrett ends up posting up Burks, getting fouled and missing his free throws 40% of the time, while Randle gets an ugly 20/10 vs Toppin in the post, turning the ball over in a spin-o-rama pump fake turnover.

But, in the early season, the vets have more outside shooting and defense to take the win based almost entirely on eFG%.

Knicks at night for one more year. The following year Knicks jr will be equally as good or better.

Quikley and barret would produce more points and also play great effort defense. Toppin and Randle would be even. Toppin functions better within the team construct. He will be a Randle upgrade on rookie scale pay.Robinson would be better than Noel if he develops that shot he is working on. Knox would probably lose the sf match unless he takes a big step this year.

What made me think of it was the gaping hole at SF. But today’s Knox articles pointed out that he put on muscle and that he’s been in the gym with Toppin since before the draft. I was thinking they might have some chemistry that we haven’t predicted. I think I knew he was working with Toppin, but adding some lower body muscle might make him more viable as a SF. He always had the skill and the length. He seemed to be lacking strength.

I think Knox’s growth with Payne and Thibs is the thing I am most excited about this year.

No reason Junior shouldn’t wipe the floor out of the vets. A lot more talented.
