There might actually be a worse-run team than us: the Detriot Pistons. Could we potentially get a 2021 first round pick swap from them for DSJr and cash incentives? They do need young guard play after all. And both teams are projected to be so bad that I think they'd accept the offer.

From our perspective, the trade gives us the ability to better control the 2021 draft board. It might not sound like much but with teams constantly leapfrogging others with worse records, it's a gamble worth taking IMO. But is it possible?

DSJ needs to prove he's not complete crap first. Right now, the most you can ask for is a second. Even from Detroit. I agree that Detroit is getting a major pass from the media. Why let Christian Wood walk just to sign Grant and a Plumber brother?

Even with us projected to be one of the worst teams in the league? It's very well possible that we end up with the better pick without any swap. They aren't really giving up anything and their worst case scenario would still keep them in the lottery.

I am not giving up a player for a pick swap....DSJ trade value in the 2021 draft is probably a moderately protected 2nd...but we all know his talent is a 1st round pick...

Part of the reason they brought in the development staff is to rehab our players to either contribute or to be used as trade chips...unless a deal comes up they are giving awards a former #9 pick for nothing without seeing if they can turn him around...
