God help that frontline defense.

Dont know about Boston, but the Blazers got as far as they did in the playoffs, because Kanter wasnt a liability on D. And he was hurt. They do a better job of incorporating him into the D.

Melo and Kanter are being brought back in part because they played their roles well. Good move to bring both of them back.

I thought it was because Zach Collins stepped up. They like Enes in Boston as a person, but hate him as a player as far as I can tell.

Kanter was on Jokic, an MVP candidate. Did a good job of containing him. His man D is better than his team D, which Portland seems to do a better job of covering.

Don’t fault knicks for media mention of him coming back. That was legit or knicks being polite.
I like the dude but really what role does he play? You start him? Then what if team not winning? Got to give yoot minutes!
He did not fit here. Thats not hate, its just our reality.

Kanter is very likable. He is a gracious dude and a good interview. I hope he succeeds and stays healthy both on and off the court!

Not sure it was Dolan. He was getting paid and wanted to play to keep his value up or the perception of it.
He never sniffed that kind of money again. He can be mad about not playing but his game spoke more than his words. I loved the dude, but he had no future here as a starter.

Agreed Melo #7 needs to be on ther teams where the talent is BETTER
also Melo will never ever be a no 1, 2 or 3 STAR NBA player.

NY City would revolt if Melo came back thru MSG brass.
I love Melo as a player then and wanted to come back home to our Knicks years ago.
However he seeks NBA ring, ain't happening here so what's point? of any interest on Knickerbockers for #7 Melo Reunion

agreed ! fully Nalod.
I like Kanter off court and his hustle on offensive board, energy at times.
However he got too many gaps in his overall game, HE dont belong on younger team cause same old stuf
"NO D" will keep Kanter on Bench. Strikes me funny a dude like Kanter whom LOVED NYC our team & city
could not Guard Defend to save his Job, or his life which he's not never going to gain respect in NBA.

Yes!!! Glad we NYK got us some really good clutch shooters in draft of!

However, agreed, on a team with this level of talent, Melo would just be going through another hat-wearing distraction tanking-not really tanking era while we get the thrills of watching HOF'er Nerlins Noel, Austin Rivers and Theo Pinson!

Good thing Lance Thomas wasn't available!

agree all you said on Kanter especially with Marshall JJ Dolan

Fact is Owner Dolan once he doesn't like you as player, coach or mgt staff,
you're OUT of Ny. Dolan didn't like Kanter, dolan is into the $gate profits moreso than building a NBA team

He's worse than his dad whom some say the Elder Dolan was pretty decent when he had helm
of Knickerbocker decisions .. back in the day, you barely heard a word about the Father Dolan.

Dolan more concerned if you're LOYAL and he likes you
more than Building a winner. Is reason many Owners barely talk with him
nor help Owner Dolan in knicks deals & fortunes to get better.

Kanter loved being in NYC. Problem is he doesn’t play defense. Grabs a ton of boards but has no lateral quickness

Dolan hate or not Kanter had to go

We gonna really post all the Good Melo games by some. Then all the bad ones by others to go back and forth that was should or should not have bought him back?
Should we have given him minutes at the 3 or 4? He agreed to come off the bench for Portland. Think he’d do that here?
Knicks are the 4th youngest team in the league.

Seriously. Who gives a ****?
That performance, and Melo's whole career of why he never won much in the NBA can be summarized in one of those numbers:
2 assists.
He had the potential for so much more winning if he enabled his teammates to better things.
