Am I the only one who see's this forum as really being funny?

Its like your talking about cars or somting! "the front end looks like a cavalier, but the back like a fiat! The wheels are like an accourd, but the tail lights are like a camry!

Whats next, Whose azz does his look like?

Bro, they're talking about his game and style of play. You're the one thinking something else we don't want to know..

I think he can be like Pippen as his shot improves.

That was funny.Reminds me of Chris Rock with a bit of Jerry Seinfeld thrown in.

Rookie swingman Trevor Ariza may get a start on this three-game trip, Wilkens said. Last night, he blew a number of easy ones around the basket on the break and committed four turnovers, but still wound up with 15 points in 23 minutes, getting to the line 10 times.

It's unusual for a second- round pick to get a guaranteed deal entering camp, but when Ariza signed a two-year contract last August, he received the full $385,000 for the first year and a partial guarantee for the second.

James Posey.

that's the best comparison yet...i agree, he is very much like just a raw version of James Posey in the way he plays.
After 7 years & 40K+ posts, banned by martin for calling Nalod a 'moron'. Awesome.

I'd have to agree with fish and go with Tayshawn Prince. They seem to play a very similar style of basketball.

I think Ariza has the potential to be a significantly better scorer than Prince. I like the Pippen comparison as the best case (obviously very optimistic) scenario

I know I'm mad late with my participation with this thread.....

I think Malik Sealy is a really good comparrison.
James Posey is another good one.

Definitely. Didn't he have a great handle and operate as a bit of a "point forward?" And wasn't he on Milwaukee, a typical Nellie player? SO far, I would tend to see Ariza as more of a mad flyer to the rim than Reynolds, but i still like the comparison.

Zeke gets as much credit for finding Ariza as Layden does for drafting Sweetney & Lampe which is little. They were all the best players available when we drafted. Ariza was slated to become a lottery pick if he stayed another yr in school thats the type of players you hope to land in the 2nd rd. If Zeke traded up for him then thats a different story even though he did try. But Ariza fell into his lap.

Crawford-Hardaway-Ariza-Baker-Muhammad-Williams comming off the bench when Houston comes back could be probably as good as any in the NBA. Guys like Crawford & Ariza could change the tempo of the game very quick.

our bench is as good as it gets in the League. Its the Starting 5 that is not.

A work in progress.

Sounds like Trev is on his way to the hall of fame!

I just remember him being silky smooth. He was lanky and had a very good handle and was a wiz in the fast break. He used to always finish lay-ups further away that most players usually rolling it off his finger tips into the basket....George Gervin wouldn't call that a true finger roll.

Ariza and Reynolds are very similiar physically.

All kidding aside,I think Nalod is right. No point in trying to dissect Ariza and who he similar to.Best case scenario is other players being compared to him not the other way around.

Louie Orr??

Demarr Johnson?

Of course I like to think better.

Whahaha. Louis Orr. Nice one. I was gonna suggest DerMarr. He was a lottery pick who came out after 1 year of college. DerMarr was and is quite a bit skinnier.

I think my ultimate comparison would be James Posey--- similar bodies, athleticism, defensive instincts. Ariza seems to be a little more developed than Posey as a rookie (Posey was 22, though!)

http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3341
In his rookie year, Posey averaged about 8ppg/4rpg in 25mpg.

Another guy: Josh Howard of Dallas
http://sports.yahoo.com/nba/players/3732
Averaged about 8.6ppg/5.5rpg in 24mpg as a rookie

Other players I might compare him to:
Monty Williams (after his game matured in the NBA)
Johnny Newman
Willie Anderson
Darius Miles
