They were never planning on giving up much for WB...It was always Randle and a pick, maybe dsj or frank.
That maybe the best offer they will get
The idea of westbrook and toppin fast breaking with some shooters around them
Some PGs adapt to their declining athleticism. Some PGs dont. Id rather take a chance on a younger PG, like Ball, or Smith jr., if he works out. Veterans, but closer in age to our young core.
we had a chance to get D russell, and Perry drop the ball on that
All you have to do is look at the teams that win championships, aside from GSW, they were all lead by veteran all stars.
A young team is not going to win games, especially in the playoffs...Even teams like Utah, philly, boston and Denver that have good young stars, they fizzled out in the playoffs, and after a while your young star wants out.
Perry didnt drop anything. You dont know what the price was. Unlike his predecessors, Perry didnt give away the store to acquire a single player. No one is on a long term deal. No aging stars past their prime, taking up a large chunk of the cap.
We finally get a GM who doesnt spend like a drunken sailor, and you pile on him every chance you get. Because he couldnt fix 20 plus years of dysfunction in 2 years, in spite of inheriting two disgruntled stars. Give it a rest.
Made a point of saying that the younger PGs were still veterans. Going with aging, overpriced PGs hasnt worked for the Knicks. But you keep wanting to draw from that well. I dont want to see the Knicks go down that road again unless he has a lot of star power around him.
