Joe as a Knick fan however is not one of us at all. I haven't felt a pulse in his heartbeat for the team basically since Isaiah. I think that killed his Knick spirit because he never got pulled in emotionally after that like he would w the Jets and Mets- even during the best Carmelo year and he never bought into Linsanity- Joe is crazy but he is skeptical with the Knicks to the point of disinterest.
Hopefully his retirement breaks all three curses- I root for the same teams.

And I’ve literally called the station and had call screeners expressly tell me not to bring up the Knicks

Also the FAN hosts are ignorant when it comes to the Knicks. At best they parrot the obligatory negativity -- Joe is probably the most informed and maybe that younger new overnight guy but the rest are clueless if they are ever mentioned. On ESPN radio it's generally just the trendy hate but at least they will talk about the Knicks. Alan Hahn was pretty much the exception in giving something approaching a balanced discussion. Kay and his bobos and the National voices are predictable in their slagging. But they love what the Nets are doing!

NY sports radio is lazy when it comes to the Knicks. Zero discussion or willingness to watch the games. When Fizzdale got fired last year despite having a horrible record it was wall to wall “lolz, typical Knicks” and then Mike Miller took over and had the Knicks play competitive basketball and not a peep made about it on WFAN or ESPN Radio. The Knicks beat the Houston Rockets. Zero discussion about the game just blabber on about Spike Lee and his silly incident. Knicks beat Porzingis twice zero talk about it. Knicks beat Heat, Pacers, Blazers with Melo back in MSG - nothing but let’s talk about the Mets third string catcher situation

Yep...only thing that will change it is a successful season, winning a playoff series or something -- then all the douchebags will front run and jump on the gravy train. Will piss me off but will be worth it.

Which could happen as soon as next season if we get Chris Paul, Melo and hit on both draft picks.
