and from the end point in this timeline, the teases continued with fizdale (position less basketball hustle/we're going to get you right mudiay/knox is the the next tatum/kp to dallas numbness/knicks dont move up in the lottery for zion or ja); i guess we could add mitch robinson being drafted and mills being fired as 2 positives with rj and frank being a cautiously optimistic plus 1, and the morris trade a half point, which all leads to the next knicks hope springs eternal production, leon rose and tom thibodeau edition, act 1 , the 2020 draft; in sum, let's go knicks because at this point, if you are still following the team and reading sites like this, there is nothing, short of your own demise, that is going to throw you off this train

Bro you just gave me my new signature! Joe was the guy who got me into WFAN because I'd listen on the radio whenever I didn't have Cable, and he came on after the games back in prime Knick crazy years- 97-99 -
Joe as a Knick fan however is not one of us at all. I haven't felt a pulse in his heartbeat for the team basically since Isaiah. I think that killed his Knick spirit because he never got pulled in emotionally after that like he would w the Jets and Mets- even during the best Carmelo year and he never bought into Linsanity- Joe is crazy but he is skeptical with the Knicks to the point of disinterest.
Hopefully his retirement breaks all three curses- I root for the same teams.

Oh the pain! Benigno was at his best on the overnight and I also prefer him solo to when they team him up with someone. Seems less spontaneous when they do. But good point about him as a Knicks fan -- he's really a Jets and then Mets fan now.

And here I am on Halloween night, a Saturday even, responding to this post.... Go New York go!

First time I listened to Joe was when he still did overnights in 1996. Knicks had just lost to the clippers at MSG and Joe was freaking out. He always sounded like a big fat Italian guy to me and then I saw a pic of him and thought he looked like Luigi

Joe is still a die hard Knicks fan but WFAN has a strict no Knicks policy and has had it for 20 years. They’ll talk wall to wall giants, jets and mets when they suck but no Knicks

And I’ve literally called the station and had call screeners expressly tell me not to bring up the Knicks

Also the FAN hosts are ignorant when it comes to the Knicks. At best they parrot the obligatory negativity -- Joe is probably the most informed and maybe that younger new overnight guy but the rest are clueless if they are ever mentioned. On ESPN radio it's generally just the trendy hate but at least they will talk about the Knicks. Alan Hahn was pretty much the exception in giving something approaching a balanced discussion. Kay and his bobos and the National voices are predictable in their slagging. But they love what the Nets are doing!

NY sports radio is lazy when it comes to the Knicks. Zero discussion or willingness to watch the games. When Fizzdale got fired last year despite having a horrible record it was wall to wall “lolz, typical Knicks” and then Mike Miller took over and had the Knicks play competitive basketball and not a peep made about it on WFAN or ESPN Radio. The Knicks beat the Houston Rockets. Zero discussion about the game just blabber on about Spike Lee and his silly incident. Knicks beat Porzingis twice zero talk about it. Knicks beat Heat, Pacers, Blazers with Melo back in MSG - nothing but let’s talk about the Mets third string catcher situation

Yep...only thing that will change it is a successful season, winning a playoff series or something -- then all the douchebags will front run and jump on the gravy train. Will piss me off but will be worth it.

Which could happen as soon as next season if we get Chris Paul, Melo and hit on both draft picks.
