Fixed this for you a little
Dude got cut early so the Knicks could grab a G-Leaguer. Gotta assume it was about his contract (they knew he wasn't going to be retained) and also attitude/off court stuff IMHO
I will concede that Trier had some attitude issues, but looking only at talent, the kid has NBA talent. It is just a matter of him getting his head right and getting with a team that can fit him into a role. Time will tell, but I think he will be back in the NBA at some point.
Someone will take a flier on him. For me, Trier had the most glorious luck after not getting drafted: did enough and had enough leverage to get a near $7M contract and a near 2 year cushion to figure stuff out so that he could latch on. Showed that he could shoot and put ball on floor. Decent size. Didn't do anything that I could see after the first year to improve game albeit Fiz ran a ****show.
At some point players got to wake up and recognize what it takes and so far Trier has not, and he has been doing the same since his 3 year college career.
IMO he was in same position as DSJr is today
