Vassell definitely is most of anyone. The CAA connection adds some extra juice. Nesmith is a very good prospect in his own right but is currently considered more of a mid 1st round player right now.

No doubt, great all around shooter. I just wish we had more than 14 games of a sample this year. Last year he didn’t shoot the ball great so we are assuming 14 games of shooting out of his mind is who he is.

I think that's the reason why he is ranked so low. I'm with briggs on the nesmith bandwagon. He has good tools together with his great shot making. Thibs and staff can fix those other areas of improvement. He had a good coach who played in the nba, coached in the nba and won in the g league in stackhouse, if he puts a good word for nesmith we should seriously consider

The corner 3 is so valuable to the offense because it pulls the defenders away from the helpside. The hope is that RJ, who's best attributes are getting to the basket and passing, will benefit most from an offense built this way.

true but at a cost. E.g., if your guys are stuck in the corner, they're not helping with flow, and there is going to be more imbalance transitioning to defense. Think of all those situations where there's a guy in the corner but someone else further out takes a shot and misses. you've handicapped your team's transition defense. So where's net benefit? And while the defender is being pulled away the play is still more in "front of him" than it is in other situations where 3 point shooting helps with spacing. And the defender in many ways is taking a relative break mentally and physically because his guy is just standing there

San Antonio did a lot of damage with their hammer set, but when i watch teams like the heat they're having their guys (Duncan) move a lot and they're launching bombs creating yet other forms of space.

none of this is meant to be disrespect to the general proposition you raise about 3 point shooting and that corner threes can be helpful. I just see more motion in the future.

You're probably right. I really don't have much knowledge in terms of the evolution of NBA offenses. For whatever reason, coaches love that type of pick and roll offense with shooters available in the corners.
