Sources: Kings request permission to interview these six candidates in GM search
This is a developing story. Please check back for updates.

The Kings are moving into the next phase of their search for a new general manager nearly a month after Vlade Divac resigned.

League sources told The Sacramento Bee the Kings have requested permission to interview six candidates, as first reported by The Athletic’s Sam Amick and Shams Charania. The candidates include Miami Heat assistant general manager Adam Simon; Denver Nuggets general manager Calvin Booth; Houston Rockets assistant general manager Monte McNair; New Orleans Pelicans general manager Trajan Langdon; Minnesota Timberwolves executive vice president Sachin Gupta; and former Atlanta Hawks general manager Wes Wilcox.
Divac stepped down March 14 after five seasons as general manager in Sacramento. Joe Dumars, who joined the organization as an adviser last summer, is serving as interim executive vice president of basketball operations and general manager.

Is this good news, or bad news? Just trying to get a feel for the forum.

eh, Perry is a bridge for this year to next. Leon has a year to evaluate and then make a decision. In this weird environment of Bubble playoffs and no working out draftees, it's definitely better to not rock the boat and fire Scott.

I hope Perry goes to Sac and brings his love affair with Julius Randle with him. Then we can trade Julius for Buddy Hield who has a better chance of helping us than Julius does IMO

Bascially its neutral.

I don't blame Perry for our issues as much as I can't credit him for doing a great job. He inherited the Melo/KP issues and while the resolution was not as we could have hoped there is the possability a lessor man might have done worse? Us fans usually are "how much worse could it be"? Given our debocles 6 other teams were worse than us last year. KP knee issues in a moment changes the trade outlook we made.
It was Mills call to trade KP. He was the final word.
Did Perry want Bud? Did Perry go all out to hire Fiz? What was Dolans role? Mills position? Where was Perry's input rebukked or not?
Given the timeline change via Covid and the draft being delayed, we dont' need him as a bridge as much given we have had time to build our FO.

Nalod take:

1. He stays its good for Knicks? Won't know for a while.
2. He goes and gets a good long term deal. Good Karma. Sac should give us our pick back. Nothing gained or lost by them. If they let that get in the way they are petty.
If we don't release him because Sac won't give us the pick back, but then fire him in 9 months its a bad look for us. Bad karma too!!!

It was Porzingis' call to trade Porzingis. He got to pick his destination and the compensation package going back in return all based on his willingness to sign an extension or not.

Sacto may pick up Perry after the draft. That's not so unusual in professional sports. Also Perry leaving now for Sacto would essentially prevent a potential draft day trade to move back with the Kings. Kings pick at 35, Knicks don't want a guy this in depth to their draft board to be a front office that picks three slots ahead of them in the 2nd round.

Would be good if the Knicks got to swap second round picks with sacto for the rights to Perry. Then he could go when it pleases him.

Why would this please the Knicks though?
