If we take avdija at 8

Is it realistic to think Knox and 27 help us move up to 15-20 range and bring in Cole Anthony as well?

Bring in 2 playmakers who can create for themselves

Hoping for Vassell or Lewis in that 8th spot. To trade Knox and the 27th pick for Avidja, is like trading Knox for Knox, with the lost of a draft pick. We can afford to wait for Kenny Payne to work with both him and Randle. With a few Dolan dollars, we can move up, or buy another pick/player. There will be a lot of bargains being made this season.

Deni isn't falling to 8, just like I know Nicollete Shea isn't banging me for free. There's a time when a man must grow up and face reality. Now drink up, cuz it's last call and we're left with Vassel, Cole, Bey, Nesmith and the like. Or you can say screw it, I'll try my luck next week, and trade for a pick in next year's draft. Or maybe you say two 5s equal 10 and trade down. Whatever. But, yeah, I'd do that deal if it gets us just outside the lottery.

Bulls and Warriors are meant to be high on Deni, so he won't be there when we pick

Can we first ask why Twovles would consider this? Plus both Dotson/Beasly are RFA so I don't think you can trade them

I don't understand the "move up" mentality. This draft is full of players whose chances of becoming very good are equivalent. At eight you're as likely to get someone who will overachieve 1 - 7.

The point is that we still get a good pick and it is more salary-cap friendly than the first seven with every bit of likelihood the player succeeds (true of this draft, not ALL drafts).

The Knox jokes are very funny though. Personally, I would trade Knox in a heartbeat mostly because at eight I can land 4 or five players to whom the game comes more naturally than to Knox. Some things can't be taught or coached. Know simply never impressed me with his game decisions, no real interest in D, and so on. We'll find out I guess.

But *WHO* specifically is so much more special that we would "move up" for? A lot of these guys look to drop through based on somebody sneezing in the team draft war rooms.

That's not the issue unfortunately. His contract clock is burning but he's not getting playing time via the pandemic.

The question becomes has he shown enough to merit an extension. If not, the Knicks need trade him ahead of his fourth year in the league. Since his advanced stats and eye test aren't very good, odds are they will have to hold onto him and then let him walk.

This is the "farm team" problem that caused so much of the NBA to shy away from high school draftees so many years ago.

As more time passes, his trade value will only get lower.

The Knicks are stuck with him, so let's hope for the best. Outlook projects to be hazy though.
