I'm not surprise one bit, a New regime is going to want to clean house, and it starts with the 90% of the staff and ends with 90% of the players.

This is good, no linger pieces from past regimes, Perry has his CAA ties so he's good for a few more months.

Next is the roster

Miller is a really good coach. Hopefully he gets a chance somewhere. Think he would be a terrific college coach.

I’d like to think he has other opportunities and perhaps a long term deal. Can’t imagine knicks would hold him back.

Be a bit of a regress to be Gleague head, then half as interim in the big show. To then be relegated to below associate head and have only one year contract makes no sense for him if he is in demand at a Mid Major Div one school and perhaps ride out a 5 year contract on a campus. If Im his agent I'd think knicks hoonor the deal and he can take a year.
Really a good dude and I'd like to think his tenure here was nothong but an upward move. Knicks gave him opportunity and he did well with it. Be happy for him.

It’s not about cleaning house with Miller, it’s about not disrespecting him by pushing him so far down the bench. He would have needed to be an Associate HC or the second assistant in order to not get disrespected to a degree. The interim role is so tricky because a new regime will want their own Associate HC and any other role for the interim HC is really a slap in the face.

Not shedding any tears if he does leave. He did do a better job than Fiz but thats not saying much. Hated his substitution patterns and lack of playing time for the youth despite being out of the playoff race. Also, I was not intrigued by the idea of Miller 55 and Woodson 62 being assistants. Love the Bryant and Payne hires. If woodson has to be hired, wouldn't mind if he takes a seat beside Houston and assists him in whatever it is he does.

Miller, Woodson, Thibs. Too many cooks in the kitchen isn't always good. Miller was a nice story and he really did get the Knicks going. At one point Knicks were five games out of the playoffs and we were excited. They played hard for him, and were often in games late. They Knicks did get a respectable reputation this season inside the NBA as a physical tough grinding team, a tough out. That was an upgrade that Miller brought to the Knicks. But as a young developing team, most of the youngsters (Knox, DSJ, Trier) went backwards. Frank only took baby steps forward. Dotson?? Mitch got better but I'm inclined to give credit to Taj for teaching him. Miller ain't that good at development. So where would he fit in?

How did Mitch get better? He’s been the same player for two seasons.

One thing I do wish I could stop seeing is videos of Mitch attempting to be Allen Iverson. Hopefully the new coaches put an end to that.

With the strong player development coaches they are bringing in, i'm really suprised Fiz didn't do this. Just seems like the Knicks are late to the party but at least they finally arrived. Knicks just have unlimited funds to get the right people in.

Fundamentals. Mitch fouled less. Still a ways to go but progress. Oh, and he Set The Record for highest FG% ever. So that's an improvement.

Miller was not the problem, but he is not the solution. I'd be curious how miller came to become interim head coach. Canales, while much younger has 10 years assistant head coaching experience and did a 23 game interim stint with Portland before he moved to Dallas. He was who I expected based on this. Miller has been a head coach longer in college and had the GLeague experiences. Its rare for any intereim coach to linger in the aftermath when a new crew comes in. In this event its a whole new team and Perry is on a one year deal. Can't say Caleb's going to stick either given he might be sliding down the chain as well. This is his third gig in 10 years as assitant. Maybe he does not strive to be a head coach? He is making a nice living but now a bit older with a family wants to have a more normal life? I don't know.

My take on knicks not allowing Thibs to have free hand in all his picks might stem from preventing a two tier front. By that you want a culture of development but Thibs and say he had his crew want to "win now". It happned in chicago when Thibs and management were not on the same page and Paxton got angry Thibs was exceeding minutes. Im guessing that Rose is constructing a coehesive structure where the culture will be unified. At least to start. Not that all will agree on everything, but he is mixing in some wiley vets and young guyss. Thibs craved more control in Chicago and he negotiated it in Minny. Here he is just the coach and maybe its deliberate to limit his powers.
Again, Im not in the room so Im just discussing.

I like Miller and think he did a decent job... that said, he really highlighted how poorly a job Fiz did with this roster by going from horrid to not awful.
