So....I was pumped about a lot of things last night. Crawford especially. Ariza too. But, while Brewer seems to be getting nice early reviews, I didn't see much to make the review that favorable. He played Charlie Ward style (ultra-safe...never make a play, never get to the paint). His 3 point attempt was kinda of ugly also.

Thoughts?

I was somewhat disappointed that Barrett didn't get some time.

I think he ran the offense and directed traffic really well. His defense is relentless and he definately plays hard. You gotta love that. I like him a whole lot even though this is my first time ever seeing him play.

Brewer is not Ariza. Ariza needs to be in the rotation, period. Brewer is a guy that I wouldn't mind having on my bench as a 12 man because I know he would be steady and aggressive when we need him....he is not getting minutes over anybody on the team because of who is ahead of him but he deserves a spot in my opinion.

Brewer's a better option than Moochie...& he has the size & speed to guard both bigger, more physical PG's as well as smaller, quicker PG's...he reminds me of Chris Childs in some ways, though Childs had a nicer jumper...but he plays w/the same intensity & tenacity from what i could tell of him last night.

notice that bad scoreless stretch in the 2nd happened when he was in at PG.

He's a preseason invite. No way he makes this team.

Well we gotta see what Barrett does. I bet he plays in the next one while Brewer sits.

I think Moochie has alot to do with that 2nd quarter stretch. Timmy too because they were calling him plays and he didn't seem interested. I want to see Timmy play with more gusto(Clyde). He looks uninterested. I'll support him still but if this trinkles on into the season I will be hollering trade.

Brewer to me is the third string point. He looked like a good presence on the bench too. Him and JYD were leading the cheers.

exactly. brewer stunk. moochie ran the offense better for the few minutes he was in. brewer just happened to be in there when the nets when 0-100 in the 4th quarter.

I think Brewer has a guaranteed contract for this year and is not just a pre-season invitee

Brewer didn't stink at all. Jamal Crawford basically ran the offense when Brewer & Norris were in. Brewer played excellent D. There was a reason Nets shot 0-100 did u not see the pressure & intensity Brewer, Crawford, & Ariza were putting on there guys. Brewer made it hard to get the pass off. Crawford & Ariza played the passing lanes and made it hard for guys to recieve the passes. The Nets couldn't get the ball inside and had to settle for long range shots. Brewers only focus was to put pressure on the ball carrier and he did a great job thats what he was brought in for anything else is a plus.
