We should have never traded him away for the old dog Maurice. Then we missed out by not trading for him. I don't like getting older but he's better than Ward. He's also uptempo and would be energized to return to his hometown. He would perform in NY n lose the attitude. What would it take to get him? Ward, a pick, and Chenworth (we should have drafted Wood instead of this scrub) or Knight? Doesn't sound like much but he's a cancer to there team.

We should have never sign Ward or Doof Dudley to those ridiculous deals.

Hot Rod w/ Spree, Rice, Camby, n Houston on the Wings; that sounds good.

Come strong or not at all!

Eh, Ward's deal isn't that bad man, $5 mil per year for our former starting PG? That's a steal.

i thougth ward was considered overpaid. either way rod is better than ward in that he can dribble penetrate and dish better. i wouldnt mind gettin rod back with the loss of ward, but ill miss wards toughness.

$5 million isn't bad if he is our starter. He no longer is and I never considered him a true #1. I believe his contract was for 27 mil over 5 years. He's also injury prone, made some dumb comments, and can't penetrate. He is good defensively but is no longer a young pup who is going to develop much.

Bottom line Hot Rod is an upgrade over Ward and it doesn't appear like we are going to land Shammond or Brandon anytime soon.

id say that shammond is virtually an improbability with our 4.5 used up and ward still around. we could lose ward to get rod, but not lose ward to get shammond. and shammond i hear isnt a dribble penetrater himself, jus an undersized sg with a 3 pointer. if this is true we need rod, someone who could get the knicks into dishing and swishing

I'm not sure about Shammond's penetrating skills but I know he's uptempo and young.

What we need is a young point we can develop. Jackson is a perfect leader and teacher. Unfortunately we didn't draft one and none appears available. I wouldn't mind Brandon but he's so darn injury prone. The kid that looks good is Andre Miller but he's not going anywhere. Too bad we couldn't make a play for Marbury or Kidd. I'm not a fan of Payton's especially since he doesnt' want to come here.

Hot Rod is our best option at this point for our team.

I've actually heard that as well. May not be the answer at the point we are looking for.

Well, how many true PGs are there in the L? At least Iverson was man enough to stand up and say, hey, i'm a SG, yes, I'm small, but i'm a SG...

Alot of Small SG's like to pretend that they are PGs, like Marbury... And then alot of tall SG's and 3's like to pretend that they are oversized PGs...

All this playing out of position, definitely not good for the NBA.

true points guards gotta have dribble penetration skills, passing skills, 3 poitn shot, and nearly total command of the offense, field general if u will. traditional point guards are that and usually from anywhere under 6 feet to 6 foot 4. i think it doesnt matter about height, u jus need an athletic person to do those 4 things and u got urself a pg, whether hes 6'5, 6'6', 5'9', or 6'1'. but obvoiusly 6'9' is jus too big for me.

I'd prefer that the PG be our best player...with that person handling the ball a majority of the time and all. Better decisions all around.

R U guys talking about Shammond or Hot Rod about what you've heard? I think it is Shammond. There was another article in today's post about Rod. He's interested but is wary about the logjam at point. Obviously Ward has to go if he comes. Pacers r said to have the edge offer 1/2 their 4.5 exception while we can only offer 1. somethin until Luc's exception comes through. Any word on when we get the 3.1 for Luc?

Size does make a difference b/c if u don't have it you can easily be posted up n r a liability on defense.

BTW how do you post w/o the quote besides deleting it.
