From Insider:

What's the Blazers' deal? Several GM's told Insider that talks for Rasheed Wallace have cooled. Instead, Portland is focusing on a package of Bonzi Wells and Dale Davis in hopes of landing a big man. Given the dearth of big men throughout the league, does anyone think they can pull it off?

Now that just about everyone has acknowledged that Latrell Sprewell and, to a lesser extent, Marcus Camby are on the block, Spree is suddenly having a change of heart about leaving New York.

"If it happens, I'll be upset," Sprewell told the N.Y. Times. "And there will probably be a lot of mad people in New York if it's me."

According to the N.Y. Post, Knicks president Scott Layden has had little luck finding a good deal for Spree. The Post reported today that a meeting between Layden and Chaney was likely about trade scenarios that have cropped up instead of Chaney's future with the team.
