The only reasonable response - blame Layden!!

Seriously, you've listed the most ridiculous outcomes possible. This isn't a worst case - it's just you feeling like doing a little provocation.

Yeah, that'll be the case IF Steph, Craw, Sweets and H20 all go down at the same time....and IF Tim Thomas gets suspended for an extended period of time for delivering a left hook to Kenyon Martin. Yeah, I could see the record looking like that at that point.

actually i had us going 1-11 vs the west and 6-11 vs east

hey maybe we can go 7-4 vs the west and 21-5 vs the east and start off 28-9--maybe thats more realistic for ya:>)

there is no *possibility* of worst case scenario! 0 nada no chance of anything remotely close like that happening-- how about 11-18:>)??

what does isiah do in case of a huge breakdown

What we do, drink more Kool Aid. Talk about hour high draft pick, Blame everybody but Isiah, talk about stupid trades as everybody will be better than us.

ANd then, blame Layden, as to which I have to not defend him, but set it straight.

If we wanna get technical, the worst case scenario for these games would be us going 0-29, but the odds are that we will do better. Same with going 7-22.

Looking at these games, we can very easily go 16-13, and that's not including any surprises we may have against some elite teams like Minnesota, SA, Indy, Detroit, etc.

I don't think 7-22 is too far from the "worst case scenario." It's pretty funny that people still can't stop seeing things through blue and orange colored glasses even when asked to see a "worst case scenario". You know it's called a "worst case scenario" for a reason.

Personally I see the Knicks going 11-18 in that part of their schedule.

Oh as far as the what would I do question, I would fire Isiah naturally.

Is that your worst case scenario or your actual prediction?

Fire Isiah? After only one season? Scott Layden put us through hell season after season and you'd fire Isiah after a skid within one year of his hiring? How would that make YOU look? I'm so glad you won't be considered to run an NBA franchise anytime soon.

I think that was more sarcasm on Isle's part, but knowing him, he would fire Isiah if we started 0-1 againts Minnesota.

He'd fire Isiah even if we went 82-0. He'd come up with some excuse like, "Isiah smells bad"

Briggs, even 7-22 seems a little too optimistic. For instance, you have them sweeping Toronto. Don't forget, Toronto's front court will dominate us. And beating Charlotte? I don't know. It's a young team, they'll be hungry. I think 5-24 is a little more realistic.

Honestly, its a tough schedule and I'd be thrilled with 16-13 after those 29 games, even 15-14. I concede they could be under .500, but I don't think they'll lose every game to Philly, nor will they go 1-11 against the West. For instance, you have them losing to New Orleans, where both star players (Baron and Magloire) have demanded a trade and Mashburn is out for the year. I think the Knicks can win that game. I also think they will split with Minnesota, Cassell isn't healthy yet and Spree looks like crap physically.

I'd say worst case is around Isle's 11-18 and best case is probably 19-10, as always the true reality will be somewhere in between, barring injuries to anyone outside of Houston.

If Marbury, Crawford and TT are all in the same Hummer when it rolls and crashes this could happen. Otherwise its not of the slightest concern. We had a better record with a line up of Eisley, a beat up Houston, KVH, Harrington and KT. We had a better record with Ward, Houston, Spree, Spoon and KT.

How is this a worst case scenario? That scenario is about as realistic as starting 24-5. I figure we lose @ SA, Hou, Dal, Indy and Memphis... but the rest are winnable.

OK, the 7-22 was just a model. Anyway you want to interpretate a worse case scenario. Let's say 10-20 for the sake of arguement--because we have been around 10 games under at times the last few years.

what do you do if we are 10-20 in the east--knowing that the hardest part of your schedule is done? Would Isiah take over as coach i.e bye bye wilkens? do you think they'd work hard at moving more roster OR just sit tight knowing that the harder part of the schedule is over and concentarting on the last 52?
Id be more inclined to look opportunistically at a move, but would be willing to see what this tema can do with the other 52. Pretty much standing pat unless something was dropped on my door i couldnt refuse.

How do you deal with the worst case scenario?

7-22?
10-19?
19-10?
25-4?

whatever man. let's see how they play together. it could work, it could turn out disasterous. only time will tell. i think this season's #1 priority should be to find out if sweetney is our PF for the next 10 years and on a lesser note, if ariza can give us quality minutes. i think that takes precedence over everything else b/c no matter how awesome they play, getting past the 2nd round isn't a realistic possibility.

and if lenny gets canned, it'll be aguirre's job, not isiah's.
