there's no way Penny or Dice can ever get back to what they once were before they got injured...Penny was as good as Tracy McGrady is considered now when he was in ORL, let's not forget...i mean, he was supposed to be the next Magic Johnson & Michael Jordan put together before anyone ever heard of Lebron James, remember?

that doesn't mean he can't still be a very important part of this team...his attitude, maturity, & most of all, his basketball IQ, are going to really benefit this team, even though his skills aren't even close to what they once were & never will be again...in baseball, great power pitchers who lose their velocity prolong their careers by utilizing their guile, changing speeds & moving the ball between each side of the plate...great basketball players who lose their athleticism can do the same & prolong their careers by playing smart basketball...Penny does that better than anyone else on this roster.

Again. Summer League, Ariza may be impressive and may have a small role on this team this year, but this site has no idea what vetren leadership is and Penny provides it, he does a little of everything rebounds well, can pass and more importantly can keep our guards fresh...He is going to play 15-20 a game and we are going to be a much better team because of it

That's part of the reason. The other part is Penny, while even more overpaid than Shandone, helps us win games when he's out there. Shandone helps the other guys win.

If there was one downside to Penny's game last year, it was shooting percentage.

If he can have a legit shot this year, he'll contribute.

The reason Shandon gets killed and Penny doesn't is Shandon was signed by Layden and was supposed to continue to develop what he showed in Utah. Instead, he's taken steady steps backwards.

Penny was part of the price we paid to get Marbury with the scraps we sent the Suns- anything he produces is gravy.

Penny is today what Jordan was at the age of 40 playing for the Wizzards. He is still young and if his health improves and his confidence grows, there is no telling how much we can get from this cat.
