Text from over at Hoopsworld:

Rumor has it the New York Knicks have reached out to former Trailblazer coach Mike Dunleavy to gauge his interest in taking the Knicks head coaching job (maybe sooner than later), Mike Fratello has also been mentioned as having spoken with the Knicks. Ardent fans again bring up John Thompson. Meaning all the usual suspects are now linked to the Knicks. Sources close to the team say there is some interest in letting things take their course and looking at a fresh start in the off-season, but there is also growing concern that the fans may desert them if they don't improve quickly. The Knicks have been actively exploring trade options, and have been mentioned to have considerable interest in trading for Rasheed Wallace, if he is indeed on the block, offering out Marcus Camby and Allan Houston (Portland would be the only team insane enough to take on Houston). Sources near the Knicks say this deal is out there if Portland wants to discuss it, but so far they have shown limited interest in dealing with the Knicks (according to sources). Portland has maintained consistently they were not trading Rasheed. ESPN's subscriber service offers that Portland has placed Bonzi Wells on the market to return value, its also possible Bonzi gets shipped with hefty contract. ESPN's David Aldridge warned to take "Insiders" with a pound of salt. The reality here is people with access in Portland have been circulating a lot of "ideas" lately, most seem to serve Portland not the teams involved. If Wells is on the market the Blazers are doing a good job disguising it. Its conceivable the Blazers and Knicks could find a deal with the principals involved, but at this point nothing seems imminent.

I have a hard time believing the highlighted part. I mean, don't they have all the MSG tickets sold already for the next couple of years? And aren't TV contracts signed in multi-year deals? I don't think NY management has to worry about a one year dive.

Nah it wouldn't be a dive in fan base they'd have to worry about. I thought even with a "true" sellout streak during the season the profits are next to none. Cablevision's profits come during the playoffs. The nosedive here would be the loss Cablevision will have to face by the inevitable rebuild.

Still, whatever we do, keep Camby.
