Watching the wizards game. Breen has done some of his best work during linsanity. They need to re-air the 1999 playoff run next. Then the 1994 playoff run

I remember the Nets game. Wife and I were hosting daughter and friends for a school dance. Wife and I in the kitchen watching the game. I really had no interest cuz Melo was hurt but then in comes Lin and Im like "hon, you gotta see this.......its heaven sent!!"
It was what it was then it was over. Lin really could not sustain that level of play even if Melo was exiled and Im ok with us not signing him.
Today Dan D'antoni reminds us the issue was spacing with Amare. Dolan panics and we end up with another dysfunctional roster and coach. D'antoni was cool but you gotta get him the players. His dismissal was a dysfuntion of a process that pays well but does not put the pieces together.

lol.

I'm trying to figure out why Berman wrote in his article that MDA was fired.

It's also amazing how Lin was never able to continue playing at that high level after just 2 months

And now, almost 10 years later, he's whining about how he begged to stay in NY...

"...I told my agent to get Houston to lower the numbers..." LMAO.. Asking your agent to tell a team to offer less money... and he went to Harvard...

If anything's been played out, it's Linsanity.

Maybe he had last minute regrets about signing the contract. His actions at the time seemed to be all about business and getting the best deal he could. He sat out of the playoffs and didn’t play on the USA select team because he was going to be a free agent. He also hired Jim Tanner to be his agent right before becoming a free agent. Nothing wrong with any of that. It is a business but this new twist doesn’t fit with all of his actions leading up to his signing the poison pill deal. I am sure he had regrets. He owned the city, got msg and time warner to workout a deal so the Knicks weren’t blacked out anymore etc.
I'm tired,I'm tired, I'm so tired right now......Kristaps Porzingis 1/3/18

Dolan was pissed. He was angry Lin “Betrayed him” but they told him to get an offer. He had a marketing golden goose. Let’s not forget ROckets were still loved in China so his value there was higher their than elsewhere. His knee injury was not severe at the time but it did prove to be a balky issue.
Most important was gone right? That made Melo/Jrod happy and Lin that much less effective if he had returned.
Lin never lived up to the 13 game stretch and it would have turned ugly at MSG.

Jrod bought the $200 Bauerfiend A6 Linsanity knee brace, like any good fanboy would. Also berated any casual basketball fan who had the audacity to not know who Lin was during the flash in the pan. Was always amazed that his knee was braced up during Linsanity, but hardly ever after it. Thought that was kind of odd. Was hoping he was going to be able to make a career kicking out to Melo, but 24 million for a 13 game stretch is still 24 million, no matter what Jeremy says through tears 8 years later...

Never gave a crap about , as he just always struck me as a professional ******* in the media and a Phil-level coaching legend in his own arrogant mind (without the chips). Change the game, but don't win chips.

Interesting that the Nalodian genetic love for Frankie's D wasn't in place for Lin's inability to guard week-old roadkill. Or anything else. Agreed about things getting ugly. How many episodes where the opposition's starting PG torches him were going to be redeemable over the course of a season? Just thankful he didn't do the "airball layup" thing in a Knicks jersey...

Lin left the city as its prince. Dolan did the right thing for all the wrong reasons.

Lin left the city as what appeared to be a fragile, flash in the pan. Cashed out. Nice book deals.
Still waiting for that 13 game stretch of Ntlikinamania.

Now some time has past, how god/bad do you think we would have been if we re-signed Lin? Would the 2012 season never have happened or would we have been less good than that team but been more sustainable for a few years?
