By a year, I mean a year from today. What good is a vaccine if there are no antibodies for the body to create? Even if those antibodies are created, you're only looking at weeks. Many of the of the articles I've read on vaccine research seemed to indicate that a lot of the research was based on the idea that our immune systems would respond the same way it does to other coronaviruses. I'm not panicking until there is a peer review, but this is a bit of a gut punch. Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. More is better and twice as much is good too. Not enough is bad, and too much is never enough except when it's just about right.

I don't understand how it's possible to be this dumb, and I don't understand how people can be so dumb as to support putting someone this dumb in charge:
The president appeared to trivialise the virus, “Testing is a double-edged sword,” he told the rally. “We’ve tested now 25 million people. It’s probably 20 million people more than anybody else. Germany’s done a lot. South Korea’s done a lot. Here’s the bad part, When you do testing to that extent, you’re going to find more people. You’re going to find more cases. So I said to my people, ‘Slow the testing down, please!’” https://www.theguardian.com/us-news/2020/jun/20/donald-trump-tulsa-rally-crowd-division-greatness |

Here is another idiot. DL Hughley apparrently has been doing shows where no one is wearing masks. He passed out during his last show.
Tweet was deleted or there was problem with the URL: After they do a bunch of tests on him they find out he had Covid. Tweet was deleted or there was problem with the URL: 1st of all look at how many times he touches his nose and mouth with his hands. That is a big No No when you are trying to avoid getting sick. 2nd of all how can they say he is asymptomatic when he has one of the main symptoms. Extreme exhaustion and unusual feeling of tiredness is a major symptom of the virus. Hopefully things work out for him but he is also a diabetic so he is part of the high risk group. |

Not looking good...
Just 6.1% of Swedes have developed coronavirus antibodies, study finds https://en.brinkwire.com/news/just-6-1-of-swedes-have-developed-coronavirus-antibodies-study-finds/ Sweden’s loose approach to lockdown during the coronavirus pandemic has resulted in fewer Swedes developing antibodies to the virus than anticipated, a study found. Allanfan20 wrote:BigDaddyG wrote:Not looking good... Doesn't say in the article. But the small percentages of people with antibodies is in line with other studies and anecdotal observations. If this pattern stands firm, then efforts to create a vaccine are going to be more time intensive. Not to mention that antibodies, when present, are viable for a few weeks. OK, that’s 6% of the population and that sounds bad but maybe that means 6% had Covid? And generally speaking, Herd immunity is supposed to work alongside a vaccine anyway. Otherwise I agree. The faster the vaccine comes out, the better. Hopefully there aren’t a lot of anti-vaccers. I’m almost inclined to say that society and the economy will need to move on despite them. “Whenever I’m about to do something, I think ‘Would an idiot do that?’ and if they would, I do NOT do that thing.”- Dwight Schrute

https://www.medscape.com/answers/2500114-197467/what-is-the-duration-of-viral-shedding-in-persons-with-coronavirus-disease-2019-covid-19
Wölfel et al reported that, in a small group of patients with mild COVID-19, nasopharyngeal/oropharyngeal swabs collected during the first week of illness showed infectious virus but not after this period despite high detected rates of SARS-CoV-2 RNA from these sites. [39] it's a small study but it showed people have shed the virus for up to 37 days. this is why the best realistic medicine we have right now to combat this is to wear a mask. how this is still not the message is criminal. |
