Thoughts on some players:
1. Never seen a player like Randle...goes to the Basket, gets within a few feet and consistently misses the shot.
2. Ntilikina... with right coaching will be very good
3. Knox...terrible pick. Will be out of the league shortly
4. Barrett...Still don't know. Probably will be a utility player somewhere but definitely not worth the pick we used. I think Calipari was wrong on his upside.
5. Robinson...will be great.
6. Payton...serviceable but not an elite PG to build around. Doesn't have the mindset to be clutch.
7. Portis...definitely a keeper. Can help any team.
8. Gibson...doesn't hurt the team.
9. Rest to the roster...bla

Not ready to give up on Kevin "Space Cadet" Knox. He has the tools. He is young. Just need to develop him.

I agree about Randle and Frank, but believe RJ has the physical tool, work ethic and mindset to continue improving. Next season he hopefully returns with a jumpshot and the ability to go right.

Have been saying Knox is a bust since before we drafted him... as much as I think we will move on from him soon I am starting to see a few positive things with his effort level and motor. He has all the physical tools, a good stroke and athleticism... my guess is we give up on him and 2 years down the road he becomes the Tobias Harris-type player we all thought he could be. Still regret drafting him though

MRob should be untouchable (no trade) and continue his development - he plays defense and didn't play any college ball.

Portis would be decent/good on a playoff caliber team. On this team he looks like hot garbage 1/2 the time and serviceable the other 1/2.

If we are able to draft top 5 guard and obtain a solid vet we should continue to improve incrementally next season.

Payton can't hit free throws or a jumper. If he could he would be elite. He shouldn't be a starter with his deficits.
FRank has looked awesome recently. Is it Miller? Is it having a pres that loves him? Is it the Knicks developmental program? Confidence? Who cares!
Knox has improved on d and overall on the court but he just isn't hitting his shot. Shot doesn't look broken. Cal said 3 yrs for Knox. I think he figures it out.
Randle is a mess. If he could be pigeon holed into the right role he could be an effective player. Not confident that that happens with the Knicks.
Barrett is a future all star. His work ethic is tremendous and he is only 19.
Portis is a love/hate guy. He has looked good at times and horrific others.
Robinson looks like a future all star.
I wish Trier was playing. He has so many strengths. Not sure what is happening with him and his minutes.
Dot should be playing. I wonder if the Knicks are planning on moving on from Trier and Dot.

1. he shoots 51% inside the 3pt line. Never seen a player like him? He is Amare without the hops. Dribbles into traffic.
2. He is getting there.....
3. Too soon. Look at the small sample last 5 games and the intangibles. He is making progress.
4. Rookie. He is still 19. Birthday in August. Calipari coaches KU. You see the rest of the draft after him? Not worth the 3? Who was?
5. Love Mitch. Great? Not sure. Big fan though.
6. Obvious observation. Most see Elf as a back up.
7. Play since allstar game up a notch. Improved.
8. Gibson the new Lance........That's a good thing.
9. What about future HOF Iggy Braz?

I think having Rose in office has definitely helped. It's not that he's just playing better, but he's showing much more aggression. I used to get upset when Frank would seemingly play to the size of the guard matched up against him. Now you're seeing him use his size to his advantage. It's not always pretty, but who cares about cool points. Nash and Billups didn't have the smoothest moves, but they were pretty effective.
Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. More is better and twice as much is good too. Not enough is bad, and too much is never enough except when it's just about right. - The Tick

What Barrett is doing at a 19 with such an ill fitting roster is so impressive. With proper spacing around him he will be able to bully is way to 20+ ppg as well as strong defense, playmaking and rebounding. He’s far more than a utility player. His work ethic and competitive nature appear to be top notch. I see a player well worth 3rd overall.

I like Barrett too. I enjoy his spirit and toughness. I do not like his defense. Hopefully, his current level of defense will not be his ceiling. Too many guys go pass him. He definitely needs to add this to his things to improve on list.

I think RJ and Knox are too slow to guard quick players.....and not strong enough to guard big players. Both will improve in those areas over time.

I have my doubts on Knox. But hes still young with time to improve....and hes very coachable and likeable from what I can tell. He doesnt hurt the team and probably needs more time than other players.. since he didnt have enough time in college to establish himself. Hes a shooter, but with his lack of leg strength and nba conditioning, its affecting his shot....knox is a huge question mark. I'm not bullish or bearish on Knox. Still in a wait and see mode. Stock is too low to trade anyway....and his salary is nothing compared to other players....might be good to have a team of low salary players who can play as a starter or bench without complaining.

I think the entire roster is one dimensional, I also feel they're a terrible fit, and i mean really bad.

You can't have Frank and Payton on the floor together

you can't have mitch and randle on the floor together

No one on the roster can shoot consistently from anywhere on the perimeter

Knox needs to play around veteran leaders, and a very good coach.

DSJ needs the G league for about a month

agreed that Portis is a good fit on any roster

Trier will always be a shoot first guy.

And the bottom line is no one is a keeper

1.) randle did get better after fizdale was teaching him to break "bad habits" but he is NOT worth the money paid. disappointment

2.) ntilikina is a bench defensive specialist which he will find his niche in the nba but he might need to go to another team for that. still a disappointing career so far but it could be the knicks fault with their player development.

3.) i hope knox get one more chance to prove himself. he has the tools to be a lot better than he showed but he hasnt developed at the pace he should. again could be the knicks fault.

4.) barrett could be a legit star on this team. he has the skill, swagger and charisma to do so. he has the work ethic too. however do we trust the knicks to put the best pieces around him?

5.) robinson started very slow but turned it on. i still dont know why he wasnt starting even though he is racking the minutes. will be our defensive anchor for years to come hopefully.

6.) payton played solid and splendid in some cases but he is a backup point guard. he wont be around next year.

7.) portis has been inconsistent this year. not a keeper. we could get a better backup.

8.) gibson has been a great mentor for the team and took the role very seriously, robinson learned a lot from him.

9.) i agree that the rest isnt really worth mentioning though its a shame that dsj was such a dud this year.
