https://nypost.com/2020/03/05/the-disturbing-pattern-around-james-dolans-pettiness/

Maybe Im the last one to get this. We blast Dolan for a lot of things. He is applauded for willing to spend but lauded for the manner by which he approaches it. "Panic" is evident by the manner by which he hires and fires in his attempt to create a winner. I don't doubt his interest in the persuit.

POst Writer linked gives a good take on his "Pettiness" which Im not sure always translated to free agents wanting to play here. Perhaps more than anything its the chaotic nature of the panic that creates a bad environment to succeed. Jim is known to be good to his players. I don't believe he is a racist unless he deep down is and he is doing everything he can to undo that internal conflict. Maybe we applaud that if true?
This article is mostly about Marv. Marv Albert that is. Dolans pettiness is chronicled here but the one thing that he misses is "What do the fans want?" A good owner has lots of qualities but giving the fans what they want is a part of it. We want Marv. That he puts his own pettiness over the happiness of the fan faithful is bad. Im a father, for years I put my family at times above my own desires. My clients, my realitives......all get consideration at times over mine. I long believe you give everyone what they want you in turn will receive far in return! That's not the prime motivation of course. If its not a genuine act then the transparency will be shown.

Dolan can reach out to Albert and ask him. If Marv refuses, its on him. If he comes, he need not say a thing. If he wants to he can actually be a human and talk to the media:
"For too long I felt I was defending the knicks and sometimes its not what the fans want. He does not have to admit he messed up. Might have a legal shyt storm if he did. He just needs to say "The fans want Marv and what every was in the past that's good enough".
Reach out to Oak, man to man. "Charles, our ego's are big. Lets call a truce because the fans want you there. They love you for who you are, not that you hate me. I think we are both at fault in some manner but it helps both our brands to give the fans what they want". Figure it out.
Call Spike: "I feel bad this all got out of hand. Man to man, we messed up. Fans would love to see you at the game to celebrate the 50, I'll publically say I regret all the circumstances that surrounded the confrontation and if it caused you any embarrassment. Your a great patron of our team and the fans love you here. I want the fans, you included to be here and happy. What do you need from us to patch this up?"
Now if Spike is unreasonable, then that's on him.

What else? How about just be a freaking human being about things!!!!! Do an interview, joke how you suck at interviews and that you have a combative personality and it does not serve you with public matters. Tell us that it is frustrating how this characteristic comes back to bite you. That your impatient, Competitive and intense. Tell us your a lot of things, not all good but (if true) racist label is not among your flaws. Tell us it pains you to fire guys you like but it was done for the sake of winning and its not been working. OWN THIS DOLAN!!! Its not so bad. Most people who follow sports despise you anyway. Do it with dignity and perhaps have an advocate discuss all the good things you do that you don't get credit for in the philanthropic world.

He has always had a simple path..................DONUTS!!

No matter what he is or is not, the perception of the Knicks while he owns the team will always be a negative one.
Unfortunately, being an ******* is not cause to be forced to sell a team.
