I'm going to suggest and ask the owners of the UK that we have just one thread to vent the trade and all the regrettable baggage that comes with it.
I respect the fact that until Dennis is Baron Davis, one of our picks turns into Manu Ginobli or Donnovan Mitchell, or KP has a open Tibia Fracture we are going to need a depository for frustration.

Call it an "emotional Tampon" to absorb the trade with the Mavericks. Some guys wish to not encompass the full details of the trade and perhaps delete content to better boil up rage. Its better to forget about Timmy's contract and he was always hurt. That Phil was fired for wanting to trade him , and Mills was fired for not keeping him?
Facts matter and we don't have all of them. WE just assume in hindsight knicks could have done better. Also Dallas should be congratulated as they moved to get Doncic and in reality that is a big part of KP's success.

The whole trade affair was regrettable and personally I find regurgitating the bile of knick despair over and over sort of "Upsetting".
At the same time there needs to be place for it. Think of it as free zone where nobody will attack or bring up facts. Can call for Mills to be dismembered or suggest he self emulsify to cleanse. A knick "safe room" to let it all hang out!!

Yes lets re-live this trade over and over. I thought all Phil lovers would be against something like this. Interesting.

Ignore the fond memories of the Unicorn in a suit. for months. Or entire seasons. Forget the Janis.

Let's regale each other with stories of how he dragged us to the playoffs.

Or what the hell anyone is going to do with this sticky thread when he's hurt for another 10 or 20 games in a row. Let's all count how many games in a row he gets to play next to Doncic.

Lets all chant his age in unicorn unison.

Kristaps Porzingis is basically Danilo Gallinari. He showed crazy promise but he hasn't lived up to it yet either. We thought he would be one of the top 5 guys in the league, the next Dirk. He's not close to that. He can still grow but he can also just stay a guy who gets 19 ppg. Nothing to cry about if he doesn't end up being a superstar.

Sorry, I don't want to ruin the thread. If people want to vent this is now the official thread. But it probably was his injury that stunted his trajectory. Nothing the Knicks can do about that. He hasn't proved that he is where he was pre-injury. He has worse numbers this year, playing on a better team with superstar Luka taking heat off him. He had only 8 games with 25 or more points this season. https://www.espn.com/nba/player/gamelog/_/id/3102531/kristaps-porzingis I won't be broken hearted until he proves himself as a Star, until we see what those picks will become, and until the Knicks screw up the Reset that the KP trade allowed thru clearing bad contracts.

Disagree with this. KP at same age, has a lot more potential and will be a star.

That said, feel this is just another example of how the Knicks and NY fan base have never been able to develop a draft pick. Don't have the patience nor the commitment to growth. KP was just another example of how the Knicks ****ed things up and how NY will spit you out the second the dial staggers. Feel that KP would have left even if he had not gotten hurt.

he would have never left if Mills was comitted to winning instead of tanking..

All kp and his brother ever said is show me you are committed to a winning program, show us progress, and were all in.

Mills did the complete opposite..

agree with most but i don't blame the fan base. Knicks FO agree. Mills Perry agree 100 million percent. i think the fans turned on him when they perceived he turned on them. I dont think KP turned on NY or NY fans. I think he turned on a stupid FO who had no idea whatsoever what they were doing. They would preach one thing (e.g., two-way smart players) and do another. Fizz was the icing on the cake -- all talk. In not even three years he has Gasol, KP, and Enes all pissed at him

this will hurt for a long time.

as i mentioned in the game thread. THJ (salary dump) is doing better for the Mavs than DSJ is for us. double burn

He didn't want to play for the worst Organization in pro sports. Look what they did when they fired mills. They could of hired an experienced basketball mind, but instead they hired an agent. Our development is ****. Knox sucks, Dsjr sucks, Frank sucks, Barrett is nothing to write home about, and Mitch hasn't improved at all. This team is a disaster. Why would anyone want to play here? Unless you want to ruin your career. This team has 1 hope. They need to hit on a number 1 pick in a year a transcedent player is available. They need a player so good that this feces encrusted franchise can't screw it up

Hehe, yes! Exactly! KP and Janis were all like " why you don't win, you stupid team, stupid Fizdale, you stupid Phil, you better win now or else we are out" all while sitting on a sideline in a suit for a year

1st round picks suck! Only one second round pick??? That sucks, we probably would have drafted TWO MitchRobs! KP is going to lead Dallas to the Finals! I just know I can find some list where he's better than AD! Or anyone else in the Western conference for that matter! Janis wasn't that bad!!! He was actually ahead of his time!!! A deranged agent type !!! Watch, I bet Dallas signs him to run their FO!!!

We missed out on so many levels!

And Timmy Jr is probably going to be Defensive Player of the Year!!! (Someday)

KP got hurt. There have been dozens of guys who showed great potential and an early injury made them just more regular players for their careers. KP may become a star. He's still young. But the Knicks are always getting killed that players they sent away become stars somewhere else. Well if you look at KP's year, his game by game contributions https://www.espn.com/nba/player/gamelog/_/id/3102531/kristaps-porzingis you start to see some things that should make you question if he will return to form, ever. This year he had over 2 times as many games with 15 or under points (18) than games with 25 or over (8). I'm sorry, but that's not a star. And he's 2 years after his injury. How are the Mavs going to build around a guy who might give you 13-14 points a game way more often than he takes over games. Thats major inconsistency. We have no problen killing the Knicks young guys for regressing or not growing quick enough. But we never put the Knicks Knegativity glasses on for another team. KP might be a star in the long run. But 2 years after his injury, playing with a top 5 player in the league to set him up, he has shown regression. There are 75 guys in the league who score 15 points a night. WhoopTeDo. Thats what KP brings just as often as he scores even 20 points a game(19 games 20 or over/ 18 games 15 or under). He may be a star, but he may just be Gallinari. And he's getting 25 million a year. If he's a star it's worth it. If he's just good? So why is there a thread for crying about him after a year where he has not impressed (aside for 1 hot month) or shown growth. .

thats the "Trade only going to get worse" thread. This is the venting thread were we dont' really challange logic. THis is the emotional dumping ground.
You present a fair argument.
