This seems like a Knicks deja vu type of thing. Sign 2 stars and they are both hurt. Will they really ever come back the same? If it was the Knicks luck we'd be screwed for years....

It might not be until the end of their contracts before the team starts firing on all cylinders. If Rose avoids the quick fix, I like our situation better.

He probably will, and to some extent be effective. He is a 7 foot jump shooter with fluid movement, so he can probably/maybe get by without his full athleticism.

But never like Irving.

Maybe one of them alone as a signing would be a risk worth taking for where the Knicks were franchise wise, but not both.

Hope we never go that route. And please no Chris Paul Leon!

He's going to be better than anything we got when he comes back, however, Achilles injuries historically speaking have been bad for pro athletes. I know medicine has improved a lot it his area. but I mean the nets are probably in the a lock for the playoffs this year if they had signed, say, Morris instead of Durant

Irving is a nut. A talented nut, but a nut. He also isn't the leader he thinks he is. You need a strong Alpha to temper him. Don't know if Durant is that, plus him being injured screws things up. Who knows if it works, but this is definitely not a good start for them, no matter what people say about that team "not being about this year".

On paper they should be battling for the east next year but remember Kyrie isn't a full-time player. Since logging a career high 72 games in 2016-2017 at the age of 24, he has played in 60 games, 67 games, and now 20 games in the three years since. They guy is always hurt. They'll be good but probably no higher than a 2 or 3 seed. They may not even have home-court advantage in the 2nd round of the playoffs.

This. Also their two best players will be coming back from surgeries. I think Durant will be good but I think it will be his worst year as a pro. Kyrie is a wild card. Injuries and other issues are always a possibility. Levert is really good but also is very injury prone. I don’t think Prince will be good enough as their primary perimeter defender.

Yep. They're best guys are just too unreliable from a health perspective. Plus, I believe there will be some load management. Plus, you can never overlook chemistry.
