If owner James Dolan went with another agent/manager type in Rich Kleiman, who is partnered with Kevin Durant, Mark Jackson would’ve been a shoo-in for the Knicks job. Dolan didn’t consider Kleiman, fearing Knicks fans still blame Kleiman for failing to deliver KD, according to sources.

Or is this about the worst crap Berman has written. Are we to believe that this is how the most successful agent in the NBA over the last 15 years will be conducting his hires? Pandering to fans as if they are children? “Fans will love Dolan if they hire JVG?”
Dolans motivation for not hiring Kleinman was related to Durant? Dolan is a petulant little shyt, this we know, but really is this guy who sits upon a kingdom operates as such a low level of thinking? We have the Donald Trump of Sport owners? OMG.

Yeah, the sell the team chants had the opposite effect. He's not selling the team. The chants just pushed him to make the next quick fix. But he's not the worst owner in professional sports. Indians fans hate his brother in Cleveland and he's nowhere near as a bad as Donald Sterling. We have that.

Are we to believe that its all going to be just great with Van Gundy just because once upon a time it was?
Berman says “Thibs” and then does the whole KAT thing? Plays fans like its some kind of fable? Does Jeff even want to coach?
Unless Thibs has changed his obsessive overbearing style is not exactly a desirable recruiting trait.
I won’t get mad. Yet.

Jeff has had some success and he's still coaching, keeping up with the times. Wouldn't be worst hire. This isn't the most exciting name, but maybe he's learned. Won't get excited yet. There is some down time and a writer gotta get dem clicks. Heck, Rose ain't even official. It's all speculation until he steps in and makes moves. Also, I gotta say, Kleinman would've rubbed me the wrong way. Nevermind the fact that he's done nothing close to being the POBO before, I still hold a grudge over the Kevin Durant thing.

I like the coach we have in place. He gets my vote to develop the young players going forward.

No way to JVG. Quitter. Guy is mediocre and overrated. He had stacked teams. He was better when he was young and humble. Now he thinks he’s a celebrity some old School curmudgeon. Stay away!!!

I could get behind Thibs but not in love w it. I like Miller though and think about hey should let him run w it

I suspect there is not one shred of truth to this story though

I hated that Jeff was kept on after Riley left and then JVG was part of the Nelson mutiny but he got results and like many the Diet Coke Drinking work-a-holic grew on me. HE left did not bother me. HE was burnt out and the man could not give an honest effort.
That was 20 years ago. Can he adapt to the new era? Does he have the intensity beyond his pompous broadcasting attitude I suspect is mostly for the ratings?
I don’t know. I don’t want a coaching named to make me happy. I want results. IF he is the guy I’ll root for him. The pre FIBA thing with Gleguers was a few weeks. Does not mean a thing. Its bully shyt if DOlan rejects him. Its kind of sad to bring him in also. Man that was a long time ago. If it brings results, then how can I hate it? Just seems manipulative pandering to a gullible fan base.

I just can't anymore. Is it really that hard to hire a respected basketball man as President of the team and just let him do what he wants? What are we doing?

By the way What Knicks fans want to hire any of these coaches?
Miller has done a great job. This roster is bad to think he might of won 33-35 games had he coached from the jump thats a miracle with this roster.

Mark Jax has some fans in these parts. They figure he can replicate what he did in GSW. Its a starphuch. JVG is a starphuch. No certainty it works or not so I don't want to go all "drunk uncle" and poop all over it. Im a knick fan. If the talent improves so will the team. As for the coach, I can't say either of them is an upgrade over Miller for now. It builds cred and fans would love it. I don't want publicity stunt, I want substance.

Miller has done an OK job. Maybe. Great? We’re getting hammered at home to the wizards and they are what, 7 games under 500 with miller at the helm. Can we slow down with the great talk? Fiz was monumentally had, miller looks professional compared to Fizdale. That’s nice.

Miller is a competent coach. We haven't seen one in a while so Knicks fans can be forgiven for taking a strong interest in retaining Miller. Realistically he isn't irreplacable. But there's also no rush. Let him have the wheel. Mark Jackson isn't getting other offers. The truth is a Jackson and/or Van Gundy will always be available in theory. They're new york guys doing a cushy tv job. In two three years they'll still probably be available. So give Miller time.
Everything in moderation. Even moderation.

I like miller by the contrast is against Fiz. He is doing a great job and it will no doubt help his career in some fashion. If not here then elsewhere. He is a NBA head coach for goodness sake1. Only thing better than gettng hired as a knick head coach is doing a good job and then fired!! He will get other jobs and good pay.
Yes, I prefer we keep him but at the same time Stoute has a point.
wait for it.......
But maybe Miller can be the guy that the media talks to and can promote the team via media? Not with starphuch promise but substance. My first reaction to JVG was “here we go again” but the guy is a media draw and he is savvy with it. JVG off the court will sell interest in the NYK brand. He will be paid very well for that. Advertising rates are based on many variables and a guy like JVG can raise the brand in a way. Its not just about the product on the court. That is what they had. Hoped Fiz would bring. The guy was charismatic and delivered a very good message. On the court was another Story.

I tell you what, the way Mike Miller has handled the Stoute thing via interviews, A+ in my book. On that along he is being super media savvy
