Teams like the cavs, warriors, hawks, bulls, wizards, kings, spurs, blazers, wolves, hornets and pelicans aren't drafting a point guard because they have point guards already on the rosters. If the cavs, wizards, hawks, hornets, spurs, kings, blazers, bulls or warriors get the number 1 pick there going to draft james wiseman. If the suns get the number 1 pick i can see them drafting anthony edwards because they already have ayton. The wolves are in tricky situation if they get number 1 pick i could see them trading down for more picks because they have russell and towns. If the knicks get number 1 pick do they draft james wiseman because they don't have full confidence in mitch robinson becoming a star player and trade him for a first round draft pick say a team like the wizards or hornets.
I agree with you to a certain extent. But teams have differing philosophies. All it takes is one guy in the front office to think a Ball/Morant or Young backcourt could work and alters the draft board. Or maybe the team just wants the best talent available?
That said, it's too early to worry about it now. The draft odds make things so unpredictable that it feels like a waste to even do a mock right now.
Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. More is better and twice as much is good too. Not enough is bad, and too much is never enough except when it's just about right.
