Lets not get too carried away by the rumors. You can slam MIlls all we want but he might be under a directive by Dolan to cash in some chips and get some relevance NOW!
He might be under a directive "don't do a thing, I might replace your ass and the new guy needs the chips, in fact, trade Morris for more chips".
At this point we don't need Mills trading to keep his job nor Dolan panicking to stop the Jeering to sell the team.

Whats big and most worrisome is the NETs. Nalod can live with Nets winning a chip. I'm worried Dolan can't. Think is he can't stop that but he can try to make the team relevant. What bothers me is Nets went all in to steal the city. They tried to get Melo, but Dolan blocked that. They got Deron Williams, Joe Johnson and pierce/Garnett. It was a bold move and Dolan countered with the Rainman Wet Dream season where we won 54 games with an old man roster. It was fun and other than Bargnani did not sacrifice. Thing is we had no yoot and it caught up to us. Modern teams have to have some and control contracts.
We are coming to a head with Frank and Dennis as they are restricted after next season. The plan last year was to have BOTH on the court as both can be playmakers. We know the gig, Frank needs to shot and Dennis needs to fly. Last night looked good. IN fact, all three play good.

What irks me is Nets dug a big hole and crawled out of it faster than we did But I can live with that. Dolan can't stop the nets but he can starphuch us again.
Im not sure this team is ready to cash in some chips. I think I read a tweet that the Randle to Charlotte thing was "Due diligence" and no legs to it. I like Randle a lot in a more limited role. By default he is now Alpha 2 behind Morris. Im more in favor of moving Morris as I'm not convinced this is a sustainable role for him with a team that gets better around him. He is not a playmaker and alpha's need to do that and know when to. That's a tall order and what is his salary to be? Do we want to tie up 25mil a year for him? Sure we need players but we need cap flex but we need money too. Money to keep Mitch, Barrett, and something perhaps of Knox, Frank, or Dennis. Someone steps up. Trade for Russell you have a lot tied up in Randle, Russell and Morris. That's lovely but not really that top shelf.

First things first, whats dolan to do?

That might be in place with Miller and Craig Robinson and David Blatt inclusion. We don't know.
Frank having 3 coaches in three years. Knox 2 in 2. If you change the FO, how deep do you go? If you say Perry is ok, and the other staff is OK, then its kind of Mills that put this reiteration together.
Granted, they did hire Fiz. Obviously if your not going to rehire Miller than we might be at the cross road that you do evaluate the top 3 positions in Mills-Perry-Miller. I get it.
But if your looking for consistent environment to develop a culture/system/players we better get the next one right. Is it as simple as Give the gig to H20 and not clean the whole thing out?
The one constant that has been good is Miller promotions in the organization.
