Good to air it out. A lot of people are very upset about KOBE. Media is creating a frenzy. Very good friend is a TV news manager and he gets some real messed up Emails like every day. There are some that think Kobe was killed by liberals to deflect Trumps defense in their response during the impeachment hearings Sunday.
This is why I get salty about making shyt up with our little knick things. The freaks who fueled and tormented the Newtown parents are the worst kind. I’ll stay away from politics but understand we love heroes.
I heard a women on the news in LA Crying like Ghandi/MLK/Lincoln all died at the same time. Women painted him a near god.
I’m put off by the iconic measure media gives him and the response by many. Every day children die. Get shot. Are trafficked for sex or put in cages by our government all because they are escaping persecution. Get on that. Not celebrity passing.
Gianna Bryant Died. Its awful. Gianna Bryant died because her father don’t like traffic. Thats phuched up, right? Sorry, Media won’t do that cuz you’ll turn it off. Show women crying about Kobe is better. News will edit out all the regular sane stuff and take you on an emotional ride instead.
Someone suggested Mav’s retire number 24. Why? Can’t refute it cuz its not proper? So we now elevate his stature by not. Someone suggested League change the Logo to him. One day after he dies? Sorry, thats just wrong. Retire his number league wide? Let’s take what Jackie Robinson did and dilute his honor? teams don’t use number 42 in that honor. Not that Jackie was a GOAT, but he as a human had to endure as a talented player the right to earn a living because of the color of his skin. Kobe did not break any barriers. Not his fault. He was likely very great for those who came before him. Can’t do it because he was a great player. If you do that, do it for Bill Russell who was a greater champion and had to endure discrimination along the way. Those guys get iconic measure. This is not on KOBE by the way but a public frenzy needing a hero. Thats another story for another day.

Do it right! Talk about it, admire what liked about him, maybe how he matured and grew into a role model and mentor after making a lot of mistakes in his journey. I’m sorry he died, sorry he was in an accident. Most of all sorry his daughter and others were there. Really, Dude was solid. He was human. What saddens me and few are talking about is what would he have in the future? His accomplishments are many, but his work was not done. That he moved on from basketball into new challenges and outlets. He had desire for self expression in ways Magic and Jordan did not. More cerebral. Thats my take.
