He looks very small to me and hasn't been spoken about much on the thread. Shooting numbers are terrible- any fans on here?

Is he better than Okoro?

What's Nesmith's defensive potential?

Seen a lot of tape on all the above. Vassell is the best all rounder. Nesmith is a personal favourite dude can flat out shoot which would drastically improve the games of the majority of our roster. And he has defensive potential but not elite potential like Vassell. Okoro kinda a defensive specialist just think he’s too one dimensional for the nba.

Thanks! I liked watching the highlights of Vassell the most of those three players, but I’m intrigued by Nesmith- do you think he’s a legit shooter or was it a fluke this season?

I'd say Nesmith is legit. The things you have to question are his size, athleticism and ball skills. I see a nice roleplayer.

His 3pointing shooting has dipped a lot since hot start over the 11 games

I think if we do end up trading for CP-3 and sign Melo, Halliburton would make a lot of sense as back up PG/SG for the 2 years CP3 is here- gets to be mentored then can either take over PG full time, or if he shows he’s better as secondary ball handler, move him to SG and find another PG

Obi isn't going 2...I'm going to consider this a very rough draft written at restart. I'd be content with Deni at 5 though.

And I don't see the Knicks taking Nico Mannion at 27, so there is that too

Plays the same position as RJ but if Knicks drop in draft, this is my pick for them.

IDK maybe even at #6.

I’m definitely warming to him- would take him over Deni. Either he or RJ can switch to SF

I’m sure Thibs has already watched every game by every player since they were in high school, and their fathers games to look for hereditary traits to their games!
Be nice to move up a spot or two for this draft.

With all the new brainpower on board the knicks are even more interesting.

Yes! Clips lose and Jazz win! hopefully they stumble in these pre-playoff games- highest we could end up with is the 21st pick (very doubtful!) at there are three teams there on 24 loses, while the lips currently have 21

I've been an advocate of Vassell for a while. If Ball, Edwards and Toppin are off the board when we pick, Vassell would most likely be my choice. If we land the 6th pick, we may be able to trade back a couple of slots and still grab him.

I have Edwards/Vassell/Nesmith above Toppin and definitely above Deni.

I agree with Edward's being ranked ahead of Toppin but disagree with the others. I think Toppin could be just as good or better than John Collins who is playing really well for the Hawks. An upper echelon athlete who exells in PNR an can hit the spot up 3. If you pair him with a good PNR point guard in a spread offense, Obi will be a consistent 20 pt per scorer imo. If he is available when we pick, I would grab him. I think Thibs and staff can coach him up on the defensive side of the ball which is his weakness.

The defensive end is definitely the weak part of his game. I was prioritising versatility and perimeter shooting which wouldn’t go amiss on this roster.

I’m not really opposed to drafting Topin as I am with Deni.

Then we are pretty much on the same page. We definitely should target 2 way players if we can, which is why I like Vassell if we do not land a top 5 pick. I haven't watched enough film on Deni to form a strong opinion on him. From what I have seen so far, I'm not very I intrigued by him.

I pretty much assumed Okoro would be the Thibodeau based choice. He could help Barrett quite a bit by playing together, let Okoro handle the tougher player. Get the athlete, use hard work to develop skill. I think there is room on the roster for Barrett, Knox and Okoro. Just have to work on their shooting percentages. That’s the hard work part.
This is the Randle.
