Imagine the media if we drafted Zion? He still hasn’t got on the court due to injury, but stranger , he keeps falling asleep on the bench during games. What do you think is wrong with him ?

Barrett isn’t half the talent but seems much more professional and takes the game really seriously and seems to have better longevity. Seems like although we missed on Ja we still lucked out with Barrett. Zion dosing off constantly at games is so strange. I know espn shows the highlights but surprised it’s not getting more attention.

NOt sure about his falling asleep during games but he is a very young guy. I know he said that he really wanted to go back for another year at Duke but Coach K. and his family advised him to go pro.

He was an over hyped media creation at the time. Everyone knew it at the tome too, but kept carrying on in the msm and social media nonetheless like he is next nba all time great. He’s not even a franchise player.

He fell asleep again?
Maybe he is hungry? I read his staff was amazed he put on 8lbs after a brief weight lifting regimen and they had never seen a human put on muscle mass as fast as he did.
Fans all over read and questioned this amazing specimen of an athlete. The questions were all being aired a year ago and his getting hurt was because his shoe failed. My take was always "is he a great basketball player or great athlete"? I can't imagine a scenario where you don't take him unless brilliant like knicks1248 and trade down to take Ja Morant. Your losing Anthony Davis and your blessed with the most hyped player out of college since Lebron!

Knicks would have taken him.
Humans his size should not be jumping like he does. Nobody could fathom he'd be this problematic so fast. Yes, Media would have blamed Mills, Isiah, Voodoo curse, and a host of things and harvested anger from its constituents.

This is hilarious. For anyone that has seen 5 minutes of Zion play basketball to to say he is over hyped, can only mean they are completely misinformed. The kid is a generational phenom.

Who the hell cares if he is falling asleep. NY media and NY fans will hate on anything that remind them of a shortcoming. I would give up RJ, FRank and Mitch for him tomorrow. But I doubt NO would be dumb enough to take that.

Overhyped?

Did you watch him during the pre-season? He averaged 23pts in limited time and shot 70% at 20 years old. That's one of the great preseasons ever. His injuries are obviously concerning, but hard to say he's overhyped.

The Knicks stink is the problem. I don't think anyone would be killing them. We drafted Kevin Knox over SGA last year. I am not sure what our scouts watch. Would you rather have MPJR than Knox now? Probably. I don't think the media is unfair to the Knicks. We have had the worst winning percentage in the entire league in the past two decades and Mitch and RJ are all we have to show for it.

First off, Knox doesn't even make the team, he gets traded for the rights to Ron Baker, Jr.

Do you think those numbers are sustainable? He’s improved his shooting from college no doubt but i don’t think it’s a foregone conclusion yet.

Zion looked awful in the first half. He was not landing on his bad leg and looked big. This kid is has to stop growing LOL!
Like they said need 10 games to see what he looks like. He did pretty well playing mostly below the rim.
They opened up for some clean looks for him and he got hot. We know what he can do but the age old question is does that body enable it.
He looked massive. Not fat, just large. He was cautious for sure.

Zion is the first player in NBA history to go 4 for 4 or better from 3 in their first game as a pro. He's going to need 3pt shooting, to keep him from being overused in the paint. Zion shot around 75 percent in preseason from camping around the rim, outworking, jumping the other team. All that jumping took its toll.

Zion isnt overhyped. Most of the compliments I read about Zion from top college coaches was about his bball IQ. Zion is a very smart player in addition to being an incredible athlete.

Those shots were wide open because i'm sure 3 point shooting ability wasn't on the scouting report.
