Not sure Kobe as coach as he mignt not relate to human beings not wired like him. As Team President, he buys a stake of equity with new group.
To work for Dolan is a starphuch. I believe Jeannie Buss has asked to join Lakers in any capacity. Why not stay in LA and work with the family you know and trust then for Dolan?
Read up on Kobe and what he does post basketball. He is quite content with his business interests for now.

The characteristics that make up a premium star player are not always desirable traits to have as a coach or executive. Willis Reed really never succeeded off the court. Larry Bird did pretty good! Good coach and executive but good ownership helped but he really never was as good as he was a player. Magic Johnson? As coach or Exec. The Great Bill Russell succeeded as a coach when he was player. "Player/Coach" was a thing once upon a time. Phil Jackson? Greatest coach of all time!!! 11 Rings! The man who coached BOTH Jordan and Kobe! Neither of them won a title without the other!!! Yep, As great as they were as players neither has ring independent of Jax!!!! Jordan was awful as GM of Wiz and as owner his teams performance is closer to DolanEsque than successful. He like dolan hired neophyte GM's that likey could not stand up to Jordans Powerful presence as an owner and human. Kupchek given their Carolina roots, Mitch's success in LA and age no doubt has earned his respect and perhaps autonomy from Jordan who needed to step away a bit.

He shouldn't he handed a GM job but groomed for it. He has the brain but needs to work his way up.

LOL - why would Kobe ever change allegiances from the Lakers to the Knicks? Lakers have repeatedly tried unsuccessfully to get him involved in some capacity since he retired. There's absolutely NO way he would ever get involved with the Knicks especially after his good friend, Phil Jackson's experience with Dolan. Sorry bro. Let's wrap this thread up.

For every Larry Bird and Ainge, there is a Magic, Jordan, Isaiah etc. who have no clue. Kobe has done nothing to prove he is GM material.

He seemed to have zero patience, as a player, for his teammates. What makes you think he’d be remotely good as a coach?

Knicks in their current situation need college coach who is ready to break into NBA.
Also we need to stop value our players by the amount of money we pay and how many years they are in NBA.
They all worth nothing as they achieved nothing individually or collectively.

Who is the next Brad Stevens? He would be perfect!

The problem is we will never know without trying...

Great players very rarely make good coaches.

And hiring someone as GM with no experience in the FO? Been there. No thanks.

My pick for a coach would be Reggie Miller - smart, funny, bulletproof.

Go back. Celtics were awful and decided let the coach grow with team. Think They would have fired Stevens 10 games into second season? Doubt it. Stevens has had bad years. Celtics are not Knicks.

Who hires the next FO? I'd rather Mills pick his successor then Dolan!

You want to go all in?? Go all in!

President of operations: Charles Oakley
GM: Latrell Spreewell
Coach Ewing

Lets be done with it already. Oak can negotiate new contracts: "Sign it or see what happens"!
Spree, He can drive to road games. Maybe he makes it, maybe not.
Ewing can promise all kinds of victories!

Game Face Consultant: Bernard King
New Owner: Bill Bradley
Let's see this fanbase bitch and moan about an owner with chips!

Ewing could also procure free post-game entertainment activities!
