Lets put things back into perspective...........
Forget Janis, the Sex thing and his obnoxious tweets:

His trade value always might have had a cap to it from any team that wanted him then consider his contract demands.
We can blame Mills, blame Fiz, blame KP and blame his brother. I don't know any truth other than he was playing at a high level his second season, his first as the teams Alpha post Melo. He hit the wall in January and this.......

A month later he blows out his ACL. All the while he is an unapologetic diva. You pay him? or wait and have another 10mm to sign a FA?
Then he hits you with an ultimatum and wants to be traded. It was about the money. He was coddled. We fired Phil. We hired a player friendly coach and he got on the plane and visited him. Even dragged his wife. They covered for him. He had the keys to the franchise. They gave him everything but the money. He had to show he could carry the franchise. Publically he said he'd be back in 10 months. Im guessing he wanted the money before he stepped on the court.

Your Mills, Pop, Phil, Perry, or Red Auerbach.......What do you do? Your team has sucked for 20 years, do you logically pin your success on this kid at that moment? Remember, this is Last year. This we are just 3 games in. WE know the kid can play. That's never been in dispute.

Knicks 1-2 and Dennis is playing like Dallas Dennis we ok. But he is not. We don't know. KP breaks tomorrow the whole narrative changes.
I don't really care about Dallas as long as we doing our thing as we need to.

The RJ early returns have lessened the impact of losing Porzingis. KP is playing well right now, and is in a great situation. But we know that was never a question. The question is can he get thru an entire season without major injury. Embiid, KP, and Zion look like they may make up a very unique class of superstar talents with the inability to stay healthy due to body types. Only time will tell, but fortunately we got our own high potential player. Would be nice to have RJ, KP, and Mitch altogether, but it is what it is. Dennis Smith looks like he's toast. Non-shooting, none defensive player. Actually reminds me of Mudiay.

KP has always played great for the first 2 weeks to a month of the season. Then he falls off the map, by all star break he’ll either be out for the season or spent

I'll give Dennis the benefit of the doubt. He's going through a lot, and that's just the things that are being reported on the record. That said, I'm not sure KP is capable of carrying a team for a full season. He's in good situation where he is second fiddle. Dallas could grab the last playoff spot, especially with the way the Kings and Warriors are playing now. I hope they don't. Nothing personal against KP. I'd be just as happy if Luka missed an extended period of time. It's just that the more lottery picks you have, the better the odds in this new draft system.

Always... always remember: Less is less. More is more. More is better and twice as much is good too. Not enough is bad, and too much is never enough except when it's just about right. - The Tick

"Always"? Two seasons is tough to sample.. His first year he was a rookie and skinny. Second year Post melo as you said he was awesome until January then he tailed off. Does Dallas signing him invalidate what worried knicks? I think he learned to keep his mouth and tweets limited and just play ball. He was an endorsement machine but I have not seen a thing in some time.
